Certainly and spend is always at the call of the government of the day. My comment was that the if money for improved services (and assuming that the money went there) came from increased taxation some people would not oppose it as they see a benefit for society from the extra tax. It's all hypothetical really.But it needs to be considered because with an increase in spend the money has to come from somewhere. I just don’t see the quality of the relationship between increased spend and improved service in reality. A good philosophy but it doesn’t seem to translate in practice. Money gets spent in areas that don’t achieve the desired result
I'm well and truly over the election - we've been in election mode for months now. Hopefully after the 18th whichever party is in power will be able to govern.
