We are trying to do some type of travel every 6 weeks in 2019, even if it is a weekend away exploring local destinations. We have the following booked so far

January: local trip to Tin Can Bay to feed the dolphins
March: cruise to 5 ports in Papua New Guinea from Brisbane (new destination for both of us)
June: J reward on SQ A350 BNE to SIN then cruise from Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong and returning reward J on VA to BNE via SYD (Vietnam is a new destination and the purpose of this trip)
October: Fiji (yet to be booked)

Lots of work travel in between which we can turn into weekends away and include any Australian state and New Zealand.

I like your plans for 2019. :D My husband and I will start with our travel activities from January, and we are going to visit Bali - Ubud.
Hope that the weather will be ok and we will be able to enjoy long walks. I've heard from our friends who have visited Ubud that people are so friendly and that their traditional dance, arts & crafts are just amazing and something you must see. I love sunsets, and I'm sure I will fall in love with Ubud sunsets. Also, my hobby is photography so I can't wait to catch the spirit of Bali and create beautiful memories. Ubud has been our dream for a long time. We have booked accommodation in one villa . It was our friend's recommendation and it looks clean, lovely and homey. The design is relaxing, and that is what we needed. It has good wi-fi, and we certainly will agree that is very important. :D Breakfast is included (I'm not a morning person so I don't want to think about breakfast while I'm on vacation). Finally, it's paradise on Earth and we definitely can't wait to see this beautiful place. So, that is our plan for 2019 for now, hopefully, we will visit something in Europe, too. We have visited Italy, and we would love to see Spain. Bon voyage, fellow travellers.

We were talking the other day about Xmas, family and holidays.... Yesterday I noticed the QF email flogging their companion sale.

Boom! Xmas will now be London and New Year will be Spain.

Given this thread is titled '2019 travel plans', how are you booking for Christmas 2019? Qantas website only allows flights up until Oct 26, 2019.

That’s NY 2019 ... 3 weeks in Spain seeing in the 2019 year. Happy days!

We basically have now settled our 2020 travel. But can't book yet.

Don't know how you can plan that far ahead!

I want to take advantage of the Qantas companion offer in Jan, but the boss says "nyet"!

Love reading this thread and getting new ideas for travel - our plans for 2019 are:-

MId-March-mid-April - skiing in Zermatt then Prague then driving from ZRH to Stuttgart and back (over 5 days to visit relies)
Mid June-July - Croatia then Hiking in Zermatt

Still need to fill in the rest of the year but have plans for 2020 already (not booked yet).

Just booked a little trip down to Freycinet in April which should be lovely.

If you havent done it already the Wineglass Bay walk is a must assuming you are reasonably fit and able. There is also a longer flatter walk there which is easier.

The wineglass side of the track was upgraded recently. Still a lot of steps LadyC, but take it easy and very enjoyable. Take a picnic lunch.

Feb: Vegas to Denver road trip via Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, Canyonlands and Arches National Park. Then a week snowboarding in Breckenridge and sampling as much Colorado beer as possible.

Oct: Honeymoon! Cape Town and surrounding wine regions, the Garden Route, and a 2-3 day safari somewhere, probably close to Jo'burg (will take all recommendations!). Followed by some serious down time in Zanzibar to relax and do some diving. Playing with the idea of a few days in Namibia at the end of the trip to see the massive dunes and check out the Oktoberfest there.

Lamenting a serious lack of annual leave after all that!

Our youngest son has been living in the Cayman Is. for the last couple of years where he met his bride to be. Our 2019 travel will start with a week in the Cayman Is. mid Jan for the wedding.

April will see us in the Cook Is. for the SIL's significant birthday.

At the end of May we will be in Queenstown. A large part of this trip will be spent in Central Otago. ;):)
