With PER performing stronger in the last few races, and securing second in the championship, what will RIC do next season ?

Anybody go to Las Vegas race??

I was in the states and awareness is up. I have a Red Bull Jacket and everywhere I went people asked me about the race, did I work for them, did I have free stuff to give them etc...

On news over there prices dropped massively for tickets and accomodation but it was still pretty expensive given the Aussie Peso.

There was at least 1 AFFer there. Interesting re: prices, we were chatting to some yanks as we were in the queue for the shuttle bus @ Qatar and they mentioned how it was cheaper for them to take time off, fly to Qatar, pay for hotels, tickets etc. than even go to 1 day at Vegas. Nuts.

I looked into it as I was there anyway...Vegas is expensive at any time but the prices were like US$10000 for 3 nights at one of the track resorts, (race and accom) and I had the impression you had to stay in their little area, it was all fully catered though with Wolfgang Chuck etc. It didnt seem you could wander around anywhere you like (except grandstands etc) like Melbourne.

I was at Vegas.
Had tickets for P3 and QF on the Friday night.
Priced out of Saturday night race but had hotel room overlooking the track as they turned left onto the strip (speculative booking over a year ago before dates were confirmed), so watched the race from the room out the window with the noise, and tv on.
Award flights SYD-LAX-SYD in QF F.
Had a great time

That’s good to know for next time. When I was planning my current holiday I considered LAS but prices were stupid 6 months ago.

As so many drivers are contracted until 2024 it has been a bit boring without the driver-shuffle-chatter.

PER/RIC has been the only speculation. Bring on next silly season when all but about 3 or 4 drivers will be coming out of contract.

So what were the rules for walking along the strip or trackside?
Where you restricted at all?
I assume they would block any possible viewing spots with billboards or such.
Was there any public space, viewing mound type areas?

No restrictions walking around the strip, however all vantage points were blocked, including the over-road pedestrian bridges....glass panels covered etc and police/security trying to keep people moving.
So, in theory, no view of the race available if no ticket.
Various footage suggests some "workarounds" including riding escalators up and down where a view of the track was available...

Thanks...thats what I thought, you are supposed to stay in "your" area.
Maybe next year prices will be a bit more sensible.

So maybe this has already been discussed, but listening to the news sport segment tonight they reported on F1. Of-course no F1 report cannot include the mention of Max Vestappen. Did you notice I did not write SH in place of the S, so why do news readers insist on pronouncing poor Max's name as Vershtappen?
