2024 F1 Thread

I've said it before and I'll say it again ... it's hard work emotionally being a Gasly fan.

Confirmation this morning that GM has gained the approval of Liberty Media to become the Eleventh team on the grid in 2026.
Marketed as Cadillac, they will initially use a customer engine till their own is ready ( probably 2028 )
An AU $700m dilution fee will be divided amongst the existing teams.

Zak said nearly as much in the coverage.

Ted was making jokes it had to be painted Pink.

Fixed penalty. And Perez got similar in Mexico, though he was a bit more over.
yeah and Lando no penalty penalty for a clear jump start in Saudi Arabia as "computer said no" ....... even though everyone could see he jumped, even the fanboy commentators

VER given a one place grid penalty for impeding RUS in Q3 by “driving unnecessarily slowly” and so looses pole. He’ll start from P2 relinquishing pole to RUS.
The Stewards commented
“Unusually, this incident occurred when neither car was on a push lap. Had Car 63 been on a push lap, the penalty would have most likely been the usual 3 grid position penalty, however in mitigation of penalty, it was obvious that the driver of Car 63 had clear visibility of Car 1 and that neither car was on a push lap”

Thought the Sprint was pretty absorbing with the battle from RUS to PIA. Nice overtake by Oscar at the start.
And fair play to Lando for assisting Oscar with DRS and returning the victory at the line, seemingly without any resistance or whingeing.

The Driver...he fell asleep (not literally) and didnt go from the pit lane when the start light went green so COL went around him.
think she meant STR (ie the dad?)
Even Horner shaking his head at dozy Checo's "start" from the pits 😂
