Ok - good news - I'm looking more 70/30 now! Just looked at price match flights and they're about $50 odd, not as good as $10, but not bad... I think I can work it in with a trip with a little massaging either end.

What time is everyone getting there? I'm going to need my hand held through the entire process as I honestly have no idea where to go or what to do as I'm from the Dark Side...

Ill sort out my flights to HBA after we've done that, but seeing as I'm coming from ADL, which flights would it be best to be on?

1/ Getting over your avoidance of the F lounge

2/ Getting over your avoidance of meeting fellow AFFers

3/ Flying JQ

4/ Saying "yes"

1) I've only not visited the FLounge because I've never had the opportunity - not because I've avoided it!

2) Same reason re meeting AFFers

3) Flown JQ many times

4) I'm keen - I just wasn't sure if anyone could join or if you had to be a proven 'real person' or QF loyalist!

Haha - was just taking the pi$$ ;)

Everyone is welcome - no need to be a real DYKWIA ;)

If not a QF WP then I'm sure we can match you up with one for guesting purposes.

I've now booked my flight up to Sydney; making it a day trip rather than coming up the night before.

Ok, I have - quite unwittingly - booked a surprise J weekend on the 18th for SWMBO (HBA-BNE), and I just realised if I was to have any hope, I'd need to take a few days more off (such a shame!) and go past on the way home, however, in order to do so, I would have SWMBO, and junior SWMBO...

So my problem is, not only would I need to be guested, but so would +1 and +1 junior... Is there spots for 3 guests? If so, I will start working on SWMBO who is reluctant to enjoy herself at things like this, but I should be able to get it through, provided there are enough guest spots... I know I'm stretching the friendships here - but this is the boat I'm in!

There is a list on page one with who can guest and who is already matched up to who.
I think by the looks of it there are a few guest spots still available based on who can guest and how many need to be guested.
No one has been assigned to our spots but I think its working on a first in first to match or it might be a first to confirm over first to register interest.
Either way, we are a party of 2 both WP and happy to guest.

Junior wouldn't need a guest spot. Kids are free

Hi guys. Just flagging an early potential clash.
Have just been asked to help take a big boat through Panama Canal around end of October and up to St Bart's !

Have a couple of newbies I have already ticketed for along with another WP so hopefully all can work out in the end.
ATM that means I can't guest others

Generally an Flounge visit is HLO isn't it? Is that because it's too hard to check luggage or some other reason?

Not too hard at all, but of course HLO will streamline your experience.

In the old days, it also meant you had a small shot at getting in more than 3 hours of FLounge time.

I'll try and update the post # 1 list in the next day or two......

If you have any corrections / updates to status - could you please post so we can allocate guesting as required :)

PS. anat0l - you're not allowed to do a Straitman! ;)

What, retreat?

I'm a poor student, dfcatch - if you want certainty, may I suggest a large muslin sack and chloroform...

It can be arranged ;)

Runs off to check QF luggage allowance......

Ok, good news - I got the approval!

SWMBO's only requirement is that, as she's coming off a week away, that she has checked luggage - is that a problem? As in, does that make this process any harder etc.? Obviously it will be a little bit more expensive, but aside from that?

At any rate, if we could take 2 guest spots, if we don't need one for junior, that would be lovely...

I'm so excited! A) for the Flounge, B) to put faces to names!

EDIT: just read anot0l's post - I will need some more info on that, but we'll be spending at least the day before in SYD, so getting there with plenty of time to spare shouldn't be too difficult...

Final step - booked and change me to a definite! (Plus of course MrsGurio and MissMiniGurio)

id id love to meet someone there to take us through the whole process to make it easier - I promise I'll only need it once! :p
