Hi everyone,

I received my 2,400SC 50,000 QFF point bonus today - after protracted correspondence with Qantas over my current partner who is down as partner gold - but he is platinum as well (and has been for the last 18 months)! Finally sense prevailed.:o

I currently have 3550SC and will get to about 3800SC before my new year starts 1 December - My question to Qantas was what is next after 2,400SC? Response: "Sorry but there is nothing else - but you will continue to earn QFF points on flights and there is Lifetime Gold - which is a very significant benefit"

Has anyone reached this situation and got Qantas to do anything about it? Even a "Thank you note for the 153 domestic segments this year - we appreciate your business" would be nice.....

If you receive AIR you're in the top 1%, which could be nice to know, but they've never planned much further than PG or LTG.

You'd think with the enhancements they'd have something at 3600 too, and I reckon (without knowing figures) attaining 5000 should be CL, but I'm very CL focused :p and CL hardly brings much else to the table anyway!

That is a lot of domestic flights?

If you do a lot of domestic fllying then why not split up some of the domestic flying so you can earn Velocity Gold as well as Qantas Platinum.

Although I do like the idea of extra rewards I just dont get the logic. Why should they give you anything?

If I shop in Woolworths all year I dont get a letter from them thanking me for my custom or a free gift. Why should QF be different?

They have given you what you paid for.

Out of interest were your flights in the more expensive booking classes?

Good post simongr! I never looked at it like that. 3800SC is a lot of flying. I personally would be sick to death of sitting in a metal tube for hours on end, 153 flights in 1 year. That's wayyyyy to many in my book. Pretty much 1 flight every 2 or 3 days.

A friend of mine spoke to a QF agent @HQ and they said there is an "unofficial" 20,000k SC = LT Platinum. But, this is not advertised. However, l'm sure that Reggie (or Boss Reggie) has passed this milestone and Serfty is also on the verge of reaching this, or reached it already. Maybe they can provide some input?

Status on DJ as mentioned before??

Be happy/thankful it's on QF (and J Class l presume), not Tiger or a LCC in Europe/Asia/USA which some people have to do, serious Road Warriors. 1 guy in the USA did a hell-of-a-lot travel for a charity, racking up some 200-300k miles per year for the last 10 years and didn't get 1 mile out of it, his employer took 'em all, when he earned the miles. (I also did a fair amount of FIFO in the last few years on "charter" flights to various mine sites that would have given me WP+PG a few times over, but didn't get squat).

What's after 2400SCs? Crediting to AA for far superior earn/burn let alone AA Exp status.

If I was back flying 3000-5000 SCs of travel again I would be getting WP on QF and no further - after that it would be AA as you suggest.

Then jump on AA flights NRT-USA and USA-Europe, upgrade to F and credit to QF for F SCs.

Thanks for the possible options - I like the idea of AA - will look into this.

Almost 11,000SC in 3 years and most on domestic (and unfortunately rarely in J), but usually in full Y. Yes - 2-3 flights per week - next week I have 7 sectors.......

Just want to make sure I am not wasting the SC on QF is there are other options

Cheers

If flying in full Y or B you earn 1.5 qualifying miles per mile flown. However you do need 4 AA segments per year to maintain status.

Supposedly at 5000 SC or $50k spend in one year you start getting frequent upgrades. Can anyone confirm?
