2400SC bonus - what next?

How many op-up's in those 3 years?

About 20 or so over the 400ish flights in this time (including last weekend from Mel-Syd -not bad for a $79 sale fare :)) however 40% of flights are on QantasLink and I usually travel outside of peak times so I guess op-up chances are limited.

However, l'm sure that Reggie (or Boss Reggie) has passed this milestone and Serfty is also on the verge of reaching this, or reached it already. Maybe they can provide some input?

I am a fairly recent QFF. Having said that.. I will achieve LTG this year. I would expect to get over 4000 sc's this membership year as I will have a few trips to Europe and USA.

Hopefully there will be a LTP at some stage although with the current dilution of benefits it is not something I would specifically go out of my way to achieve.

With relation to a $$$Spend to receive any specific benefits... Someone mentioned $50k... (Don't know how to insert another quote MODS can you help) I have had a higher spend than that on QF metal for most of the past 10 years and it is not something I have noticed.

I am still not sure what to do with FG (Friend Gold) or the extra points. 50,000 points will probably almost be enought for a JASA Trans Tasman in J. That will save me at least $1200.

The letter i received with my first AIR magazine said top 3% of QFF's. Oh well.. I average 2500SC's / yr and still get my copies.. 95% of my SC's on OW Flights..

My 1% could easily be wrong. When you said 95% of SCs on OW flights - did you mean not QF? I was wondering where those 5% of SCs on non OW carriers could be getting there ;)

Upon reaching 5000 SC in a membership year you can enjoy the class of the Qantas Club in your very own home! Once a month we will deliver you six of Neil Perry's Signatured mini medellions of an undertermined meat stewed in its own juices, lovingly wrapped in a light pastry and gingerly baked until perfectly blackened. Well, according to Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Benefits & Privileges - Status Privileges, the 2400SC benefits are in effect, but their site sheds no light on how this is done. I would suggest contacting the QFF Service Centre and asking them that question - then posting the answer back here.

thanks - will do (was actually on the phone to them this morning about missing points, and forgot to ask!).

in the old days (when it was complimentary gold at 2100 credits), how did this come through? i haven't nominated anyone, and wasn't contacted by qantas when i hit the 2100 point milestone either. do we have to call them?? i figured they'd send me an e-mail at least, or have somewhere on the webpage where you could nominate someone to take the complimentary membership, but nothing there.

It's waaaay down at the bottom:
§§ Available from 1 October 2010 for members who have not nominated a family member or friend at 2100 Status credits. Selection currently includes Complimentary Gold, 50,000 points or Qantas Valet Parking/Qantas Chaffeured Transfer Vouchers

Its still at 2100, I will let you know Friday what the process is however from those that have travelled the road before I have read they got a letter or call, of course there is nothing wrong with calling QFF, their IT is not known to be a shining example of best worlds practice.

thanks serfty - saw that, but my question is exactly how this happens? do they contact me to give me the choice? it's been over a week since i hit 2400 points, and have heard/seen nothing from them! further to that, i hit 2100 points a few weeks ago, and didn't hear/see anything about nominating someone to take the complimentary gold. so was just seeing what others have done when this happens to them...

On 2100SCs you used to get a congrats letter and a nomination form for Partner Gold.

I suspect under the new arrangement you will also get a letter.

achw- I simply phoned them and asked for it, and it was provided. I haven't received anything via email or letter, but as my QFF year finishes in 5 weeks I wasn't going to wait around for them to contact me!;)

I’d almost raise my hand, but will get it on my own in 2 months so it’d be a waste, but I’m sure if anyone ended up offering it up on the forum it’d be gone in a flash!

If I ever got there I think I’d have problems deciding who is most worthy of getting it. Might have to be my mum :p

I don't know what my current LTSC count is the moment as I am away, but I did cross the 21000 LTSC in the recent past. I can confirm there was no LTP for Reggie at this point. The most SC's I haver earnt in a year was around 4400, with nothing other than the PG at 2100SC's.

My flying and LTSC's has given me the following with Qantas over the years since AN last served the lamb and mint sauce

1 OPUP
1 OPDOWN (very poorly handled)
Baggage pretty much always last off the belt in PER
Issued seat 1F on a B717 using online checkin, which had me sitting in the closet, resulted in me sitting in 2E, whilst I was being called throughout airport to board my flight as it was waiting.
Complimentry AIR magazine
The very occasional Qantas Advisory Panel Survey (and 1 bottle of Olive Oil)
14 hour delay on a PER-MEL flight (1300hrs flight took off at 0300hrs) on a 743
Never been offered a double SC promotion

The only time I can say I have had exceptional service was when bags ended up in Canberra and I was on my way to Townsville. My bag caught me at the Townsville airport as I was flying back out. I think the service at this point in time was less to do with QF but far more to do with the townsville manager.

I don't mean to stir and hope someone can 'show me the light'...

I really don't understand why people ask for LTP or another level above WP. When does it end? OK, let's say they establish another level at 3600. You bet someone will be asking what happens after that? Should they create another level at 4800? 6000? 7200?

Well, yes, you can say, but by giving me this carrot, I'm giving QF more revenue. The number of people with that amount of flying (2400+ a year) probably isn't that high. The amount of investment required to keep/earn that extra revenue (one would think there must be super duper exclusive feature to make you happy) probably won't be low either. Is it really worth for QF to do?

QFF never will be a programme for everyone. There has to be a natural end point somewhere.

I can't remember the program, but ISTR there is at least one which offers 'official' life time "Top Level" status.

However, the one I am thinking of is age restricted and a member must be 55 (?) years or older and have a humongous amount of accumulated status to qualify.

Speaking entirely for myself. I think a Lifetime recogniton of QFF most loyal flyers above LTG is desirable. I am not looking for a HIGHER status than WP at all, however it would be nice when I got to 24,000 SC's that LTP was available.

I would also like to think that aside from "AIR" there would be some other type of recognition for those members who consistantly clock up several thousand SC's each year.

I do notice that in most instances I am able to pre-allocate the first row in J when travelling Trans Tasman and DOM. In fact it usually defaults to 1C on a 737 and 1B on a 767 so I guess that is something.

If you receive AIR you're in the top 1%, which could be nice to know, but they've never planned much further than PG or LTG.

You'd think with the enhancements they'd have something at 3600 too, and I reckon (without knowing figures) attaining 5000 should be CL, but I'm very CL focused :p and CL hardly brings much else to the table anyway!

Sam,

The CL benefits I believe only extend to QF and not other OWE carriers where CL is classed as OWE, so you are correct apart from a higher grade of scotch and being at the top of wait queues, not much else.

cheers
