Convert your hotel points into AAdvantage® miles until 15 June 2017

[h=3]2017 Conversion Bonus[/h][h=4]Earn 25% bonus miles when you convert hotel points[/h]From now through June 15, 2017, convert your hotel points to American Airlines AAdvantage[SUP]®[/SUP] miles, and you’ll earn a 25% bonus on the amount of miles you receive from the conversion.
That means converting your hotel points into 20,000 AAdvantage miles will earn you an extra 5,000 bonus miles. Don’t wait, you’re getting one step closer to your adventure, convert today.

Thus it seems to me that 20,000 SPG points would convert to 31,250 AAdvantage miles (20,000 SPG starpoints + 5,000 SPG bonus = 25,000 miles + 6250 miles (25% AA bonus) = 31,250 AAdvantage miles

Look up the details on the AAdvantage website --> earn miles ---> convert hotel points to miles (Unfortunately I can't post a website link as I have less than 10 posts - maybe someone else can post the link for everyone else)

When this 25% promo ran last year it applied to the actual points transferred from your account at SPG.
The 5000 point bonus from SPG did not attract the 25% AA bonus.
My return for transferring 20,000 SPG points was 30,000 AA miles (20K + 5K + 5K).

Even so, if you bought SPG points in April at 30% off and then transfer them across to AA it is a pretty good deal with this promo.

I have another transfer processing right now for the current promo and will report back once the miles post into my AA account (2 - 4 business days supposedly).

Here's hoping that the rules have changed in our favour for this promo.

So here is the result from my AA account!

20,000 SPG Point do equal 31,250 AA miles with this promo:cool::cool: (as calculated by Kressley)

With this outcome I will now be transferring most of my Amex MR points to AA. Should cover my next F Award to Europe very nicely.

Makes sense .. ISTR last years promo being a flat additional 5k bonus on 20K transfers, making 20K + 5K + 5K, totalling 30K.

Just redeemed a 7 night Ritz-Carlton package for 7 nights in Tokyo Ritz + 150k AA Miles

How long did the AA Miles take to hit your account from redemption? I'm hoping its relatively quickly.. the agent said 1-2 weeks... hoping they are right on the week (not including bonus - dont care if they hit later as dont need them immediately to book flights that open up in about 10 days).

The transfer from SPG took about 2 /12 days to show up in my AA account - they seem to have got a lot quicker with this over the last year or two.

Thanks for the reply - I hope you meant 2 1/2 days (2.5), and not 2-12 days though!

*prays that Japanese Airlines flights open up as expected*

Yep 2.5 days  (txfr requested early on 8/5 - AA miles posted late on 10/05)

I have another transfer going through now and will keep track of the timeframe and post the result.

BTW - weekends seem to slow down the transfer time - not really sure why as I am sure that is all automated at both AA and SPG. :-|

I also had a JAL F Award (CDG - HND) just disappear whilst waiting for the AA 330 day booking clock to start. Nothing worse than being able to see the Award seat and not been able to claim it!

Thanks for the reply. By the sounds of that, I should be OK as I dont think I hit 330 days til next weekend, and I dont need the bonus to have been applied (which I read can take 7 extra days to hit).

Have been watching Tokyo - Honolulu JAL J awards like a hawk. I know exactly what flights numbers to aim for to get their updated sky suites as its an overnight flight, and hopefully we're able to get the HND-KIX-HNL itinerary as would really love to spend a full day in Osaka on our way there rather than 1 extra day in Tokyo.

My further SPG transfers just posted (around 48 hours after the transfer request was submitted) but I still have to hang on for another 3 days before I can make my return booking on AA.

Just in the last 4 days nearly all of my JAL options and most of my CX flight options in F have disappeared. Both the BA website and Award Nexus are getting a bit of a smashing from me right now as these choices dry up

Thanks for the update. Re JAL awards disappearing, I noticed what I was searching for would disappear on ba website, then an hour later reappear? Not the same?

Starting to get nervous... its Tuesday and still no show yet. Flights open up on the weekend... *please AA land the points in my account in time*

Don't forget that you can book the JL Award flights with AA and put them on hold for up to 5 days at no cost whilst SPG get their act together.

I know, but I'd like to have them confirmed, booked and in hand! If they are on hold.. cant they still be pulled as they are a partner airline?

I agree - nothing is certain without an eTicket number, but a hold is much better than watching someone else take out your booking on Day 330.

BOOM! The full 150,000 miles (120,000 + 25% bonus) hit in the last hour (have checked a lot today). Also ordered a 2nd flights & nights package for 360k marriott today going into AA for a specific redemption to make sure that lands in time to book later this month.

Very relieved as it took a full 6 days to hit account - Marriott initially said 30 days so I was scared it wouldnt land in time!

Now, *prays to JAL gods to continue to open up availability like they have been for months*
