BOOM! The full 150,000 miles (120,000 + 25% bonus) hit in the last hour (have checked a lot today). Also ordered a 2nd flights & nights package for 360k marriott today going into AA for a specific redemption to make sure that lands in time to book later this month.

Very relieved as it took a full 6 days to hit account - Marriott initially said 30 days so I was scared it wouldnt land in time!

Now, *prays to JAL gods to continue to open up availability like they have been for months*

Great news tizey, now here's hoping that JAL will take you from HND to HNL.

My SPG points transfer has now been put to very good use - just booked CDG-MEL in F on QR for next year :cool:

Nice redemption! I havent considered QR as a redemption yet... maybe next Europe trip.

Scha-wing! Booked the HND-KIX-HNL itinerary on JAL we wanted. Now it says status is 'on request' which I believe is just ticketing queue? Would like it confirmed, but should happen in next day or two?? Never booked a reward with AA so not sure if that's normal

Good news indeed!
24 Hrs is normal for AA ticketing on partner airlines but any longer than 48 Hrs waiting is worth another phone call just to check that all is still on track.

Ticketed, confirmed & seats selected for the business class KIX-HNL leg.. took just over 24hours from reservation being made over the phone. Note for someone else booking JAL on AA: you have to ask for the Japan Airlines PNR to log on to JAL website to select seats... its not the same as the AA one. This promo coupled with Flights & Nights and Gateway/DJ Amex points is an absolute steal in terms of FF points cost of the 7 night certificate.

Here's hoping the last flight I need for our honeymoon opens up in about 10 days time.. *Fingers Crossed*.

Wow that was fast, requested travel package on Sunday night, 150K points came in just now. ))

Already redeemed the 7 nights for JW Marriot Emerald Bay, Phu Quoc in October, Cheapest room rate for the my 7 nights was pricing at 71,841,000.00 VND :-)

Hopefully my plat status will get us an even better room and free BF )

This is amazing use for the 7 night Marriott stay!!
Just dont really understand why vietnam's hotel is always so expensive though..

I want to take advantage of this so much but the voucher is only valid for 1 year and the only thing we haven't got booked is Whistler for next April and they only do the basic room with no upgrade options. Anyone know how to extend beyond 12 months? Or is that 12 months to make the booking not the stay?

12 months to make the booking and also from all the information I have read they will let you extend for another 12 months as a one time gesture of good will )

I'm in the same boat. Transferred points in November 2016 but don't have anything planned until mid next year possibly a little earlier. Wait and see whether I can extend 12 months even if fee is charged.

I see that SPG have a 35% off points offer at the moment:

$USD455 for 20,000SPG -> 31,250AA (before June15) = 1.46c US or approx. 2c AU. Not too shabby for top ups.

That is a good deal. So around AUD800 for 40,000 AA miles?

Wow if your quick and have 3 spg family accounts you could get 90K star points for 2773 AUD and quickly convert to AA through Marriott for the 150K AA and the 7 night cert.

The recent 40% off AA miles was about $2700 USD for 150k miles and no hotel ))

Tempting.

I love this promo!! Secured homeward bound flights HNL-NRT-MEL on JL with the 60000 bonus points earned from two Marriott packages (would not have had enough but for this promo).

Original plan of HNL-SYD/BNE/AKL-MEL had to change due to no availability opening up on Hawaiian on the dates I needed. Got to within a week then stopped dead in their tracks.

Great promo. Thanks AA!

If you are using them for the extra miles on the flights and hotels package with Marriott, it works out 1 SPG = 3 Marriott = 3 additional AA = $USD .0076 / AA mile

To explain:
+ 50,000 + 70,000 Miles + 100,000 Miles + 120,000 Miles
Category 1-5 200,000 | View 220,000 | View 250,000 | View 270,000 |
Category 6 230,000 | View 250,000 | View 280,000 | View 300,000 |
Category 7 260,000 | View 280,000 | View 310,000 | View 330,000 |
Category 8 290,000 | View 310,000 | View 340,000 | View 360,000 |
Category 9 320,000 | View 340,000 | View 370,000 | View 390,000 |
Tier 1-3 350,000 | View 370,000 | View 400,000 | View 420,000 |
Tier 4-5 470,000 | View 490,000 | View 520,000 | View 540,000 |

As you can see, the difference between the 50k and 70k is 20k Marriott points and the difference between 50k and 120k is 70k Marriott Points. ie. 70k additional Marriott points = 70k AA Miles. It is better to buy the points and go for 120k miles rather than 50k miles.

Sorry about the formatting, no matter what I do, it keeps reverting.
