25 years - A Pictorial Celebration

Bit of a communication issue with the lounge waitress - we didn't order four plates of food.

We all like to have a go at NP, but OMG the stuff they served in the JFK AA Flagship lounge was an absolute appetite killer.

QF12 JFK-LAX

If you're thinking the menu doesn't match the food - you'd be correct. Some sort of stuff up with either the wrong menu or wrong food loaded at JFK, not sure which one it was.

I stayed awake for this 787 flight, so got to have a decent look. The cabin is nice, the windows are huge, crew were fantastic, and it's nice being on a new plane - thumbs up from me.

As soon as the captain hit the seat belt button - I hit the pillow. Got a solid 8 hours, and then another 3 ..... these 787 are quiet!

The menu, no food for either of us.

It was really nice flying directly into BNE, given these 787 services I doubt we'd bother flying F from LAX again.

That's it for this trip report.

Cheerio!

Gah. Thanks for killing off anything being looked forward to in AA F lounges on my trip next year. :(

The soup was nice....

Speaking of bagging NP, what about the NP salad!!

Great TR, thanks again. You've 'marked my card' for my visit to NY next year. As I wrote last year, I hadn't visited there for over 20 years and dreadfully under-budgeted time there that time, thinking that I'd seen it all.

Gaaahh - I see picnic cutlery :mad::p.

Interesting that you rate the B787 as quiet. Their lack of (expected) quietness is the thing that has really surprised and disappointed me - especially after all the 'Dreamliner' hype.

Have you flown in an A350 yet? Now, they are quiet :).

It’s not really an F lounge as you can get in there flying J or with gold status. Compared to the slop in the Qantas international J lounge in Sydney I thought it was Ok. I preferred the Flagship lounge in LAX to the one in New York. If you are flying F internationally with AA there is a separate dining room (or at least there was in LA - didn’t really notice in JFK.

Thanks for a fabulous Trip Report, amaroo. I admire the very thorough nature of your travel report, and the research that you have put into developing your detailed itinerary. Well done!

Thanks for a great TR with lots of excellent food on display and plenty of interesting sights.

Truly vile, made the NP salad look like a culinary masterpiece :p
