What is your travel patterns/needs, upgrades with Velocity are a waste of money IMHO given the redemption options for flights, unless your upgrading a flight for work etc.

Unknown destination and thought upgrade was the only thing to use points for.
Probably holiday flight, business class if econ fare purchased
Just seeking best option\destination\use of points for future?

I agree with what markis said, I had 200k points in Jan but have burned down 50k or so on J points + pay redemptions for myself and my tribe...best value spend in my opinion

I recently used some points for the J half price upgrades which is great value, but might hang on to the remaining 200k plus and see if international points upgrades comes in along the line.

I just spent 200K (in points) on 2 x J flight returns on Etihad (AUH - CDG) for wife and daughter. (approx. $7.6K - value) I always have difficultly figuring out the best option for points except to always try and use them for J redemptions. The only trick now is to figure out how they are going to pay me back?
