SYD check-in LA800 "having problems"

I'm trying to check in on LA800 SYD to SCL - I'm within 48hrs from departure time, I add passengers details but I keep getting a message "We are having problems with check-in. You can retry or come back later"

I tried using the LATAM app as well as the LATAM website but no luck... can you actually check-in online from SYD?

The inbound flight left SCL quite late, they might be moving pax to the direct flight possibly if it’s tomorrows flight
