So in the end my 15c discount only got me marginally below the price of the independents. That is not a discount in my books....

Or simply wait until Coles/Woolies drop their prices to 140.9 in about 4-7 days...............

Huge discount.

Wish I could get it but no Coles in my area.

Here in MEL independents follow the rest for pricing and are always the most expensive. First to go up, last to go down (which can be a good thing)

That's pretty good, best I had was 24¢/L off, from a combination of a special offer on coke and something else at Woolies, so long ago I an't remember, but ended up with 12 points/L, which was pretty decent for a big fill up.

Yeah in MEL, there are only a handful of independents that are really lower then the 2 majors. So even if you wanted the lowest price you would have to drive to the other side of town which is not feasible. JohnK by the way I have tried E10 in my car, and despite the saving, I noticed my car gets less km out of tank with a ethanol blend.

I'm sure glad I've got a diesel car! Not because I only need to fill up once every 700km (or so) (per fortnight or less), It's sometimes even the cheapest fuel available!!!! It never travels UP or DOWN......

And in my area the independents will also drop their prices.

I am not blindly going to buy fuel at Woolworths/Coles unless I know they are the cheapest on the day so I am not going to chase the fuel voucher offers unless they are extremely simple to get with normal shopping.
