Re: 28° Mastercard Cash Advances while overseas [No more free cash advances from 1/1/

BPAY out of your account and pay a fee of $0.95 for the privilege.

Use 28 degrees to take funds from your account and there is no fee.

What's the difference to 28 degrees? Sick and tired of all this penny pinching going on from big business.

Re: 28° Mastercard Cash Advances while overseas [No more free cash advances from 1/1/

I'm going to be sending a $5 cheque once a week

Re: 28° Mastercard Cash Advances while overseas [No more free cash advances from 1/1/

Id rather give Aus post $1 than hand it over to GE!

Not GE anymore is it? Thought its latitude? Though I 100% agree with your sentiment!

This new online payment system is certainly a joke... Initiated a payment 3 days ago and it's still not available on the account. It's been taken from my bank account, so I guess latitude get to play with it for a while before giving it to me

That is very clever of them. Playing the money market. My card cancelled and received letter of cancellation the other day.

That was my assumption. They wanted 3 days to play around with the funds. Penny pinching alright.

For now I have decided I will overpay the account with lump sum payment once a month and wear the 95 cents fee.

Re: 28° Mastercard Cash Advances while overseas [No more free cash advances from 1/1/

3 days has come and gone... Money still isn't there. It's been out of my bank account for over 48 hours. Why am I not surprised.

Re: 28° Mastercard Cash Advances while overseas [No more free cash advances from 1/1/

My transfer went across relatively ok. It was there on the third day - well at least the balance had been credited (bill was 'paid'), the funds becoming available might have taken a bit longer. If immediate availability of funds is an issue 28 Degrees seem to be fairly liberal with credit limit increases.

28 Degrees payment fee

Got some phone help with log on this morning which was resolved OK and the agent at the end helpfully told me about a new? Payment option ( basically direct transfer from their web site).

Else they now charge a approx $0.90 fee for BPAY or ETF from my bank.

Thats pretty annoying.

I gave up on this card a while back. It was a really good and useful card back in its day, but as so often happens, the rules have changed and its now just another piece of plastic sitting in my drawer with no outstanding qualities that would make me want to use it. There are a few other products out there that want you to pay a surcharge to pay them ... I just laugh ... I mean seriously, wth?

Re: 28 Degrees payment fee

I stopped using it for a long while as my travel was mostly for business and things went on by business card. However some extended personal travel coming up, so I've resurrected it.

Does it still give no FX charge overseas transactions and a decent FX rate?

There was some mention in the main 28° thread - I have merged relevant posts/threads.

Re: 28 Degrees payment fee

Yes still no FX charge and decent rates.

My SO just used it and I noticed the 'BPAY payment handling fee' so I did some research and found the payment 'from my bank account' option. Good card for traveling IMO and has always had a pretty good rate compared to cash and other cards.

Just checked one of the rates and got USD for .764 when live rate on the day was .772

Re: 28 Degrees payment fee

The foreign exchange is very good.

The 95 cent BPAY payment fee is a pain but not the end of the world.

Re: 28° Mastercard Cash Advances while overseas [No more free cash advances from 1/1/

I have been using this here and there - I submitted a payment last Thursday morining, it was showing online for both source and destination accounts Saturday morning.

Agreed, but annoying nevertheless. GE Financial ( is that what Latitude is?) creating a separate payment system. Just what we need.
