Which banks in the US have fee free ATM's for cash advance. I saw Chase bank mentioned. Any others?

Also where is the link on the website to apply for a Credit increase?

I can confirm Chase is good to go (no fees). PNC bank charged USD3. Some other banks charge between USD3 and USD4.5 per withdrawal.

I only went to two banks while in the US - as soon as I found Chase didn't charge I just kept using them...

Last time I was in the USA I found Bank of America hit me with fees ranging from US$1.50 to US$3 depending on where the ATM was located. Good to know that Chase does not, I'll keep that in mind next time I'm over there.

New to this forum; finding it very informative!

Anyone with experience using their Wizard Mastercard (or any Mastercard) in Moscow?

Yes - its one of the few counties which I had a lot of trouble withdrawing cash from my Wizard Card.

Citibank ATM's always worked for me, but the local Russian banks failed on approx 90% of attempts.

Lookup the Citibank ATM locations before arriving and you'll be OK

BTW - If your flying to Moscow the airport ATM's were OK from memory...

$4.50 to take cash from an ATM ?? If you pay this I don't expect to see anymore coughing about CC surcharges!

Most expensive ATM I've seen is part of City Center in Vegas, $6 USD. Accross the street at Walgreens it's free.

Thanks bowser....do you recall if it was a matter of the the local Russian Bank ATMs not supporting/accepting Mastercard? Or do you think it had something to do with it being a Wizard Mastercard.
Have been to Moscow a few times and have always used Visa - don't remember seeing the Mastercard symbol on the ATMs at all - but then I wasn't looking for it.

The local banks didn't have an option to select 'credit' account. I could only select savings or cheque account. Most ATMs had the mastercard or cirrus symbol.

My Wizard card worked for all credit card purchases, just cash advances were a problem.....

In Scotland I had the reverse problem as the ATM defaulted to credit and would not let me a use savings or cheque account. I've solved that by now having a separate card.

hello,
Just wondering if anyone has used wizard clear advantange mastercard in debit recently. As i just activated my card and the first call person told me it was fine to load up my card with my own funds but when i asked some other questions related to the cash adavnce feature she tranferred me to another call person who said that i cannot load up any amount onto my card and apoligized for the previous persons mistake he also said if i put the card in credit it will be locked until a refund is processed.
i am very confused as i was planning to use this card soon for a overseas trip.
any comments would be appreciated, thanks.

I'd call the a Wizard CSA to them them you are going overseas, where you are going and that you intend to use the card, but nothing else.

Simply put it into credit and use it. You should be fine.

(As always, take a backup card with you.)

Also, just a note for Wizard cc cardholders who have recently elected to use online statements instead of traditional paper statement.

I have realised that the most recent new statement is available online WITHOUT any notification, no email whatsoever, of course no paper statement via snail mail.

I am not sure whether this is their tactic so you will forget about it and therefore they can start charging interest.

Of course I am a 100% transactor, so I am fully aware of this.

The New online service requires you to re-register.

As part of the registration process you have to agree to have online statement, or pay a $0.50 per month fee.

I went no further into the process. (see my 21June post)

I had the same problem. I put in my email address and selected to be notified by email when the statement becomes available. But I received no notice last month. As a result, I almost forgot to pay my bill by the due date. Very annoying. I've now set calendar reminders to make sure I don't miss a payment deadline.

The monthly paper account fee is 50 cents. I chose to continue receiving our two statements by post for now - sorry trees - just in case the email reminders didn't come through.

I'm registered for online statements, but the other day received the statement by paper.. am guessing there may be a little lag in getting it happening.

Has anyone else received a letter from GE offering a credit limit increase?

I've been trying to increase my limit for 2 years...GE are finally playing ball :)

They tend to do it every year or so. I didn't receive one in the mail this year, but when logged in online was offered another $1,000 to add on to my existing limit.

Tried to log in today to check whether my most recent statement was available as it was due on the 18th July. Could not log in and got the message that this service was unavailable to me. Phoned Wizard and they tell my card isn't even registered for on-line service(had been for 5 months) so they said I may have to re-register. Try to re-register and "service unavailable" This is all when I'm about to load the card into credit, ten days before going O/S.

They have a new web portal. All who wish to use it need to re-register.

Thank you serfty for letting me/us know about this.

You would think the person on the end of the phone, at Wizard, could have told me that rather than just say, "your card isn't registered" as if it's never been registered.

No. I thought GE was being very cautious recently with credit limits and credit limits increases.

I have been trying to increase my credit limit by $500 online and it is never approved as I do not fit their lending criteria.
