3 months Gold for 10k flybuys w/ 80SC to extend (targeted offer)

Quick question, if booking return flights for 2 people (ie: 'family'), which allows the transfer of points and SC; could it be workable to use the transferred sc to be treated as part of the 80sc bonus?

Ie: myself & partner flying interstate, I've got her linked to auto transfer any points sc earnt.

I believe family pooling will be eligible for the 80 SC required to hit full Gold . planning to get my partner to VA Gold in our family trip ( 20SC x 4 ) in December , correct me if wrong .

Very odd addition to this one.

I was definitely not targeted for this. I transferred 10k Flybuys points on 23 September on the offchance, and just received an email today saying I'd been upgraded to Explore Gold. Annoying as I flew interstate with my wife yesterday and couldn't use the benefits.

Now what's doubly annoying is that I should hit 500 SCs for the year on Sunday, and it looks like my SC count has been reset for the Explore Gold offer, with now a target of 80 in 3 months, when I was only 25 SCs off before. (Also if anyone's keeping track I got Explore Gold last July with a Coles MC so you can get it twice.)

Has anyone hit something like this before and will Velocity allow me to get my previous gold review date back?

I called and they confirmed that Explore Gold temporarily overrides your SC level so that even if you do make your annual Gold levels during the 3 months (but not the 80SCs challenge) you won't automatically get Gold for a year as normal. They manually applied it for me so I lost the remaining 2.5 months of Explore Gold, but have it for a year from today as expected.

I asked them about that previously, and was told that after Explore Gold is over, if you didn't meet the 80 SCs and qualify for a year of gold that way, then it should revert to your pre-Explore Gold situation.

i.e. Your total SC count should simply be what you've earned over the previous rolling 12-month period, and you should be able to just earn the 25 SCs to qualify for full gold normally, and the system should pick that up.

It sounds like you earned between 25 and 80 SCs during that time, piratematerial, hence the need for manual intervention?

When I first had Explore Gold I missed the 80SCs and fell back to Silver (I was Red prior) with a new start date.

Just curious, what happens if I achieve 80SC before the review date? What I am keen to know is if I accumulate say 150SC within 3 months of explore gold period, that extra 70SC in this example is counted as SC accumulated within full gold membership period?

I didn't think it mattered when you earn the SC's, they just continue to accumulate (and expire) and once you hit 1000 you upgrade to the Platinum membership.

Shortly after your Explore Gold review date, 25 December 2018, we will send you a Gold membership pack. This pack will include your new membership card, so you can enjoy the complete range of Gold benefits for 12 months."
