Any suggestions one where we could go?

We're in Adelaide, would like Business/First ... no real time line..

Just looking for an experience...

Only restriction is we probably can't be away for too long... or else we'd have to take 2x kids - don't think i have enough points for that!

(I was thinking Tokyo, but i think the kids would really want to go, so maybe elsewhere)

There was availability for mixed Thai's First and Business class flight during next year's Cherry Blossom season for 120kpp with United Mileage Plus. You might need a bit more Amex points to make this work but I would convert 360k Amex points to SPG Starpoints which will give you 180k worth. Then from there convert it to Marriott Rewards points which will be 540k.

With 540k you can redeem for two Flight and Hotel package. Which will net you 264k United Mileage points and 2 7-night certificate at a Category 1-5 Marriott Hotel. To redeem for hotels in Tokyo you'll need an additional 90k Marriott Rewards points (60k Amex points) to upgrade to a Category 8 hotel. Given that the 7-nights in Japan during Cherry Blossom season works out to be $4k cash, it is well worth it. Now the problem is getting those 60k Amex points.

Something to note is that United Airlines will be devaluing their rewards redemption in November it will be best if you could book everything before then. Good luck.
