495 SC - what is the chance of getting upped?

Just rang velocity to check and the advice I received was that the SC have a life of 365 days so although my account will be reviewed tomorrow in line with my review date, I'll still have 900 SCs in my account until they start to drop off from Dec. Looks like I have a little bit of breathing time ....

I might have misunderstood this but even if you are not at the level required by the review date, you may still make a new tier as the SC's last for 12 months, so at review date your balance doesn't set to 0. My review date is tomorrow, and I'm 100 SC's short of platinum (pending an review of some SQ flights that were never credited) but my oldest SCs are from Dec 2012, so I still have a little bit of time up my sleeve to hit plat regardless of the review date tomorrow....

Does that sound right??

RL

I had an issue with some SQ flights to Bangalore (neither VA nor SQ's fault as a dodgy Indian travel agent had tried to claim them as his own) which I needed for Gold. When SQ and VA were able to rectify the situation in Dec, the SCs only lasted until Feb (as the flights had been in Jan), as they are. Therefore once the claim is made they should be retrospective (that is if you are 100SCs short and the flights are more than that they should count in your review (that is what I was told, as I was concerned they'd come after a number of SCs had disappeared) and bump you into platinum.

If it doesn't a few stampy feet may remind them it should.
