Applied for 2 cards friday night. They only asked for name and dob of supplementary card holder.

But received a call today asking for a d/l or passport number to do an electronic verification of the supp holder.

Not sure if its sampling but be wary of using the dog/cat name.

Were you able to give the D/L or passport number? If not, then what?

yes, gave the passport number. put on hold for a minute while she processed it. came back saying it was approved and should receive the cards in a week or so.

Mrs B received her QANTAS AMEX Ultimate card today and after activating it rang to get me added as a supplementary.... she was immediately informed of the 5000 point bonus and walked through the process. A smooth and trouble free experience!

Called up yesterday to get a supplementary Edge for my mother-in-law. Had her drivers licence details handy given the reports here, but the rep only asked for her DOB. No points yet, but not stressed as I haven't had any dramas with these promos in the past.

Received a follow-up call from Amex from a US phone number, and the rep wanted to know my mother-in-law's licence details (place of issue, number, the way her name appeared on the card). He then proceeded to do a 'security check' with those details, though this check initially failed as the rep I spoke to last week had apparently put down the wrong DOB - once this was corrected, the check went through fine and I was told the supplementary card application had been approved.

I logged into the Amex website shortly after the call finished and the 5,000 bonus points had already appeared in my MR account :)

Just got another 10k for a five minute call.
How did you do this?

There is a maximum of 5000pts awarded for this promotion, It doesnt matter if you add 1 card or 10, you still only get 5000pts.
The CSR made that clear to me as well as various other sources for this promo.

I'd say they added a supp card holder for a few cards. The limit is 5,000 bonus points per card, so if you have a few AMEX cards you can get multiple bonuses.

I have 2 amex cards, I got the 10k bonus,

I called up again to ask if I was eligible,

the guy said I was elgiible for one card but not the other

so I ordered another supp card, it arrived a few days ago but I didnt get the bonus,

so maybe the sales rep are wrong from time to time

I had a similar issue and response with a call from the US. In my case, the person on the phone put the license as issued in QLD not VIC for my sister. Once corrected it went straight through and I already see the points waiting to be swept through at my next statement date. Happy days.

So for my two cards, I've just added my wife as a Supp card holder and should expect 5000 points in each. Given I read this offer comes up regularly, it would be good to do it again when it comes up. I could start adding kids/parents and other rels but prefer not to go down that route. Therefore, how would I go once the points come through (and card at some stage), ring up Amex and cancel the newly added Supp card holder, then simply add her again when the offer comes up?

Called yesterday to add my mother-in-law to my plat charge, agent took the info, and then asked if I wanted to add her to my other two cards to max out the bonus, as I only have a few days until the end of the promotion. Told me the same terms apply to all cards (I'm responsible for charges, etc.) and said she would sort it out, no need to stay on the line. Also, only needed name and DOB, she asked for the DL but I said I don't have it and she said its no big deal.

15,000 points were in my account this morning already.

Does the addition of a supp card result in an entry on the supp person's credit file? (not the account holder)

Applied supps on Saturday evening. Points came in on Sunday morning! (less than 12 hours - must be a record!)

Called Amex last night and 5K points in my account this morning. Quick and easy points.

Allegedly according to reps on the phone, last few hours to do this.

Some say the promo goes to end of September, but I got mine in just in case.
