Received an email regarding the rewards program, that I'm barred from, that might raise a few eyebrows and a couple questions at the same time:
"We have clarified the circumstances under which Bonus Points will not be earned on Partner Offers. Specifically, if you are receiving a benefit or have received a benefit through another rewards or cashback program with the merchant or supplier of the offer (clause 4.18 ‘Virgin Money Card Linked Offers’)."
So Virgin will cross reference purchases with other rewards/cashback programs prior to awarding any bonus points. I don't recall too many offers that induced me and to pay with a debit card (maybe a Menulog one?) but I hope AmEx doesn't get any big ideas though.
