50% Bonus SCs, 50% Bonus Points Offers (Targeted)

@redRoo - would be great if Qantas initiated a system whereby customers can request a Double Status offer when available, if not previously targeted to automatically receive one. With potential pending flights to book, it could be the deciding factor to help me make that booking decision quickly & naturally which airline I choose. Why should some loyal customers miss out?

Because if you were organised enough to be requesting a DSC offer, you were clearly planning some flights and planning on booking them with QF. DSC offers are supposed to drive incremental revenue which might not otherwise have occurred.

Plus...everyone would just request a DSC all the time. I think the system can naturally assume that everyone would want a DSC offer at all times.

I understand your point, but you also need to consider what comes first, me thinking about travel or the DSC offer.

I generally don't plan travel & then wait to receive an offer, I find its the offer that makes me inclined to suddenly consider booking travel.

The same happens elsewhere with all advertising, when Qantas advertise a sale for flights to the U.S., that usually makes me think about potentially booking something to the U.S.

The same if Qantas issued a double status / 50% more status offer to all, I would then likely consider booking something.

But missing on being part of a deal for whatever reason Qantas decide, I'm currently Platinum, certainly doesnt encourage me to want to book any flights with Qantas, but if I knew an offer existed & I could be included, then this might make me think twice.

I also generally wouldnt request an offer if I knew it was of no use to me in the promotional period.

cheers.

So I got the following offer which was written as if this was to help me get to platinum (currently 300 SCs away);
-------
50% bonus Status Credits* when you fly on any eligible flight^ with a QF flight number.

All new bookings made between 14 October 2016 and 21 October 2016

For travel between 14 October 2016 and 12 January 2017
----

Had quite a few new bookings I made just before this came out, however out of the blue had a need to book to domestic flights which will net me an additional 40 SCs total.

I had WP covered but since I'm only 1,200 away from lifetime gold I'm happy for the any extra SCs.

Anyway I was wondering was this really linked to being bear next status level and being 3 months months out from anniversary?

I made a last minute flight booking in September outbound on QF codeshare on EK flight and inbound on QF flight and received 100% bonus points for the QF flight.

I don't remember signing up or receiving a recent bonus points promotion. I used a residual gift voucher created from a gift voucher that was purchased in December 2015. Would the residual gift voucher get a new booking create date that was perhaps during a double points promotion? Very strange but gratefully received.

Got the 50% bonus status credits offer this week. Rather off-target offering it to me. As LTG with a balance of just 30 SC's this year... Not sure what sort of algorithms they use to target these, but obviously not that sophisticated.

Aren't you a prime target though? A previously proven loyal customer who has dropped away this year, that already has LTG so will cost them little if you do accrue more SCs?
