50% Marriott Bonvoy / 30% Hilton Bonus Points when you Transfer Amex Rewards Points

I'm thinking of transferring all my MR points to Marriot then over to Qantas.

Current balance with Marriot is 0 as I've not used them before. Looking at the account I can see no option or reference to transferring them out. Am I missing something, or would it only show up once there's a points balance?

When looking on the desktop website, down the the bottom of your 'my account' page, there should be a heading of 'redeem points' with sub-headings including hotels and flights. The flights page is where you can transfer marriott points to airlines.

I have nearly 400,000 MR and just started looking at transferring to Marriott Bonvoy.
Having a bit of a play around with seats.aero to see what I could get with UA or AC Aeroplan and found something interesting with EK.
Ek J from MEL to SIN with QFF is 75000 points plus $1217.47AUD.
With Aeroplan, the same flight in J is 75000 points plus $119.40CAD.
I can't believe the price difference!
Some interesting options transferring points to MV.

While AC is better than QF, MEL-SIN on EK is far from a sweet spot on AC.

You can do MEL-SIN on SQ for 45K or get all the way to Europe on SQ for a mere 110K on AC.

True. Much better value. Also for another 5000 points you can havea stopover in SIN.
ACs award chart has EK as a seperate entity for some reason.

Just letting any NZ members know that amex nz did in fact have the same 50% MR to Marriott transfer in August. It was not showing up on the NZ amex site when you go to transfer MR. However I only found out by accident as I transferred over some MR to marriott to get to a multiple of 60k to then transfer to some airline at some stage. Then I saw that I did in fact get the bonus. Now it's 1 Sept so I can't go and transfer any more MR to marriott. Bummer.

Talk about useless at Amex NZ. I had specifically contacted them to ask if NZ cardholders were getting that offer and was told we weren't - when we were. I would have paid the property taxes and loaded up on amex if I had known that. Next time I would do a marriott test transfer if something like that is announced on here.

The notion of a 30% bonus from Amex to Hilton is laughable when you can convert from Amex to Virgin Atlantic at the same 2:1 rate as for Hilton, but then onwards from Virgin Atlantic to Hilton at a 2:3 rate, every day of the year. It's the same as converting from Amex direct to Hilton with a 50% bonus.

If Amex were to do a 100% bonus to Hilton, well then, that'd be more exciting. 😉
Wow thanks for sharing this - I had no idea! I transferred 600k amex points to my hilton on 31/8 with the 30% bonus, still yet to receive them.

That seems quite unreasonably delayed - I would be following that up, if you aren't already

Has anyone received their Hilton bonus points as yet. I contracted AMEX as I haven’t and was told it was a Hilton problem and to contact them.

I had an issue with receiving my bonus Hilton points. Contacted my RM and got them chasing it up - took around 6 weeks to finally get it. Apparently an issue on Hilton's end.
