There is a link from the Amex bonus partners pages to the MS page and that's where you have to 'register' and donate from. It will take up to 8 weeks to post the 5K extra points too.

When I made a donation in late June, the bonus points posted at the same time as the base points (part of the same line/post), within a day or two of the date of donation.

I made my donation about 4 weeks ago and I called Amex tonight as I'd only got about 220 points for $150. They told me to wait till the end of Sept and call back if the 5K points are still not posted.

Weird! I just double checked my Amex MR account and it definitely shows the bonus awarded at the same time!

I've yet to find anything in the T&Cs that makes me think you wont.

The criteria seems to be the same as last tax year where you just have to make the donation on the appropriate form.

I took advanatge of this 6 times last year. Need a few more donations shortly to have enough points for a J trip to Asia with SQ

5 weeks and no points, letter sent today as phone just gets the old "wait 8 weeks" response.

Same as others who successfully get the points, mine posted straight away with the transaction (~2 days after donating). Did you use the Amex link? Which Amex card do you use?

I thought it's only Membership Rewards linked Amex, e.g. ones issued by Amex directly.

I too have yet to see my points - also told to wait 8 weeks. I have 2 AMEX cards and 6 weeks after the first donation, made another donation on the other card - both none bank cards. That was a week ago and those points have not posted as yet.

It would save everyone a lot of time if they just posted the points within 4 weeks max.

Would require somewhere near $4769 (pre-tax) donation to generate enough points for SYD SIN rtn in J (15% online discount applied)

Still more affordable than buying the seat with hard-earned $ and the charity would get naught in that case.

I assume that's based on a J standard return redemption?

On a SQ J saver SYD-SIN return redemption you'd only need to spend about $2700 worth of donations to get to 93,500 points (plus ~$500 in taxes/surcharges). Or did I miss something?
