The beaches on the SW side of the city are quite swish - occupied by a number of private 'beach clubs' with great sand and surf. As you may have found, Casablanca is just a big crowded city, not very appealing.

The Tower. This was to be the Minaret for a very large mosque. Building began in the 12th century. The dynasty was defeated so never completed. A lot of damage done by the Great Lisbon Earthquake in the 1750s.

A mosque has been built which uses the old tower as it's minaret.




It was to be a huge structure and these were to be the supporting pillars. Said to be recycled from Roman ruins.

We are now at the Casbah. Reputedly the former stronghold of pirates but now private houses within it's walls.

We had a great time in Morocco.
#1son's wedding was way over the top and a boys day out on a couple of trail bikes with #2 son was also a bit of an adventure..
I would be happy to go back..
