Just found out that cash rewards is doing cash back for Hilton now..

Hilton Hotels & Resorts | Cashrewards

Hilton Hotels & Resorts
Up to 6.00% Cashback

Special Terms
Hotels in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific: 6.00%
All Other Participating Hotels: 4.00%

Important:
Rewards may not be available until 90 days after the completion of travel.

Hilton will not reward on any bookings that have a travel agency IATA reference, corporate account code or HHonors redemption code in the booking.

If a customer cancels their reservation or does not visit the hotel on the day of their intended stay, Hilton will not award commission on the transaction.

Coupon Code:
PR05WB

I dont think this can stack with other codes however I think it may be able to be stacked with things like the winter sale (unconfirmed)... It will not work with USA Gold Medal.

It's actually been there for months now and quoted in another thread. I'm yet to see my cashback approved, though it's only 1.5 months since checking out.

Awwww, which I'd read this thread on Jan 2nd when I spent $2k on an Advance Puchase Conrad property! Next time...

IIRC, there is a special way of booking these to get the cashback as well as points/stays. What's the process? Is it as simple as using the coupon code and placing it in the Promo Code box of the Hilton search engine? How does it know where to send the 6% cashback to?

You have to click through the special link in Cashrewards. Of course you'll need to sign up for Cashrewards first and the cashback will go in there which you can withdraw to a bank account once the balance reaches $5.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have never bothered with cash backs as the process seemed tedious, but I'll give this a go as that seems easy.

It does add up though.. there's quite a lot of cash back sites like ebay, virgin Australia etc... You would be surprised how much money you are missing out on (I know I was). Now I check it before I buy anything online.

Which provides a far better discount.

Gold Medal doesn't always work though.

For travel sites, I use Quidco. It's now offering up to 12% on hilton which works great with some of the current sales. Only issue is it's in GBP and paid via paypal so will lose a few % on FX fee but at 12%, it is worth it.

I got over $1000 last year across cashrewards, quidco, pricepal :D

Wowe.... I didn't know about Quidco - I'm such a smuck. Even Qantas has 2% cash back on quidco... Sigh.

And yes, the gold medal rate doesn't always work and is sometimes blocked out.

It is a UK site and they weren't Aussie friendly in the past but they have been great these days especially for travel, usually higher than Australian cashback sites. Hotels.com and Hotelclub.com regularly give 12% when not using coupon code. Their tracking has been reliable as well.

I just went to sign up and I see their agreement states I have to be a UK resident. Is there a secret to that? How are they Aussie friendly?

No secret. I think they don't enforce that term. They have been paying me and other international members via Paypal with no issue. Some sites like Opodo, you will get a message from quidco saying that you need to add UK bank account before you can proceed as the transaction has to be made in the UK or by UK resident so they are aware of international members.

At your own risk though. Wont hurt to give it a try on the sites you cannot get any cashback from cashrewards, pricepal etc

OK thanks, I'll give it a try. When a "cash back period" is stated, does that mean you have to book within that period, or book stay and pay within that period?

You just have to book with in that period. Hilton might charge your card a week or 2 later, no problem with cashback. Cashback on Hilton is usually tracked within a couple of hours.

My bookings are flexible and Hilton don't bill the card until the stay. The Hilton rebate with Quidco expires at the end of January so I wondering if I book before then, for stays months out, whether it would still be applied? Any experience with that?

Also, how often would the Hilton rebate appear on Quidco? Is it a regular?

+1

Didnt know about Quidco, so naturally, signed up, and already getting cash back from it! I like how Quidco sends an email to let you know that your purchase of $X with cashback $Y from retailer Z has been tracked.

Thanks Finale!

Where did you see that? If you mean the date under voucher codes and offers, thats usually when Hilton promo code, sale, or quidco's special rates end. Cashback has always been there. Rates just go up and down.

No experience with pay at hotel but if you book on the site, it should be tracked straight away.

Yes that was probably the date I looked at. So the code displayed is just a promo (special) rate code that needs to be entered into the Hilton Promo box and has an expiry date but is totally separate to the cash back offer which is automatic provided you link through the quidco site (which then opens Hilton in a separate window and is ongoing albeit at a possibly different cash back percentage? Correct?

Did you sign up to the Premium Quidco account or the freebie? (PS...I appreciate all this advice as I'm a real noob at cash back offers)

Yes that is correct. Cashback sites don't usually pay if you use a coupon/discount code that isn't listed on their sites.

I only have a free account.
