Hi all,

Does anyone know whether Row 12 on a 737-800 (immediately in front of exit row) reclines normally during the flight? I remember a flight years ago when the seats in front of the exit row were fixed upright for the whole flight, but I think more recently the seats were just locked for takeoff and landing but could recline during the flight.

Flying back from Melbourne to Perth with my wife next Sunday, aircraft has been downgraded from 332 to 73H and looks like it is fully booked in economy - the only aisle/middle pair available to select at the moment are in Row 12.

Thanks for your help,
Mike

Seats are locked and recline button is removed, at least on the VA 737's where i've sat in Row 12.

Most of the aircraft now have locks the crew operate for rows 12 and 13 to allow recline during the flight.

Sometimes the crew may forget so if they haven't done it just gently ask them and I'm sure they will sort it out. There are a small amount of aircraft that don't have the feature sadly and always locked upright in rows 12 and 13.
