747 Bar Carts

The current article about "First Class at Home" kits on the AFF home page has suggested that there may be some carts available.

I am happy to say that this is correct, as I just snagged a full size one. They are the only size available, and Angus at QF Wine has about 4 left.

Angus has given me his email for anyone interested, so PM if you would like that. Mind you, I just rang their general contact number on 1800 505 004 and got one that way.

Well done. So pleased for you.

Thanks for the heads up Australian Frequent Flyer team yesterday. I gave Qantas Wine a call around midday yesterday and snagged one, super pleased!

Was umming and ahhing when first saw them, waited too long and they sold out. Then regretted it.

Going to be perfect in our new office we are fitting out, with a small upstairs mezzanine we want to fit out like an in-flight bar/lounge — so the drinks trolley is a perfect addition!

Get someone to use the office announcement system, holding the phone a few cms from the person's mouth, and say, "the final cabin door is now closed, crew please arm doors and crosscheck, and prepare the cabin for departure".
Most office phones can do pa calls.
I know they only say that QF says this on their 737s, can't remember what the announcement was when I flew the 747s on several occasions.
And make someone open and shut the cart many times during a flight, as they do on real QF flights, quite noticable seating at the rear with the crying babies on domestic flights.

Oh, Poochie. You are so naughty.

Its all about remembering what its like to fly again.
Next they will the recordings of the ding ding noises made during flights.
Next a call light with dinger somewhere.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
One more, wonder what's the name of the fakey perfume they use to mask plane loo smells.
Double edit: not my website, but it evokes memories:

More of an enhancement, rather than masking, don’t you think? 😉

Avoid sitting anywhere within cooee of those potty rooms, Poochie.

For Dc3, normally, the rear 3/4 rows on the 737 is for parents, blocked off in the picking of seat stage, though sometimes, they are open for takers, have had row 29 all to myself once ADL - MEL.
If "rear entry" is allowed on the QF 737, sometimes it happens, then its first on via rear stairs, esp ADL departures, SYD arrivals, they don't use the stairs on the 737, so its a trek out via left front door.
Ok, ta all for allowing me my waffle, will let this post go back to its gist now.
Will be on "my Read only mode".

Nice delivery this morning. The little dude (2.5yr old) enjoyed pushing it around the house!

New office fitout should be done by end of year. The boardroom will be having the cart as a centrepiece.

So will wheel the cart down to the office for the christening at some stage. May have to wear the PJs and distribute the booze at said event.

I picked up mine yesterday. It had a new top lid and rails. The sides were suitably scuffed 'though. ;)

I wonder if it was refurbed because it was one of those put aside for VIPs. The trays also look barely used.

Seven weeks for some bar carts to arrive, when others had them in a week. 😳 I would have been getting a bit nervous.

The trays in mine are new too - I believe I asked if everyone thought the same for theirs, upthread. I was just going to post here if you'd received yours yet!

I ended up cancelling my QF points store purchase after 10 weeks when they still couldn't give any indication of delivery date. Points refund came through in a couple of days.

Goodness, what happened then? Do you live in a capital city or very remote? Very disappointing for you.
