Quick Q:

OLCI'ed for QF505 tomorrow - scheduled equipment is 767-300.

I was auto-allocated 25D; the seat map shows rows 23 and 24 are not full rows (AB are missing from both rows and IIRC there is no 25F), so I'm assuming this is an international config 767? (Too bad I'm not in J .... :()

In that case, what is the "best" seat? I changed to 23D (23E showing no allocation at the moment), 23JK are both allocated/blocked.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Hmm, if it was international config 24F would be missing..

I thought 23F was missing from Int Config. Anyway, what would be 23AB and 24AB are in the tech crew rest area, so certainly does point to a int config.

Not wishing to rain on anyone's parade so to speak but isn't this a bit
"Off Topic" for the "Off Topic " thread?

Exactly - 24F is THE best non exit seat in WHY.

As for the schedule 505 chariot tomorrow, it is "Byron Bay" - an internationally configured aircraft.

23E is not a bad seat.

I was annoyed to find that I hadnt points upped to J on my SYD-MEL flight on Wednesday that was an int'l config A330 :(

Oops, yes; that's what I meant!

How does one find out this info?
If I told you I would have to shoot you - so for our mutual best interest I won't tell you. :p

FWIW, this can change - I would suggest anat0l keeps a close eye on seating.

Indeed. One minute you think your on a Int Config plane, next thing you find yourself on a ex-BA plane, in a little 2 row cabin.

Smart man - that's exactly what happened.

So now I'm in 23D seat in front of the bulkhead in the two-row cabin at the front of Y. I like that cabin, although I guess I just might prefer 23B: I sat there last time and I knew that there is a cut-out in the bottom of the bulkhead. Unfortunately, 23A and 23B are currently occupied/blocked out.

Of course, there's probably a higher chance that 23E may be blocked (thanks to WP) instead of 23A or 23B.

BTW: thanks serfty for moving my question ;)

In my opinion, and from personal experience, avoid 23E on international configured 767s. If there is a late aircraft substitution you will find yourself in a middle seat or looking for an aisle seat further back in the cabin.

But then again maybe others are not as jinxed as I am regularly....

I wonder what would happen if you selected 23A or 23B in a British config, but then the aircraft was changed to an international config with the front-of-Y crew rest?

BTW, there was plenty of room in 23D in the British config - well, I say this as I could not even touch the bulkhead with my feet unless I slouched in my seat, but as most people here would know I'm not exactly tall.

That happened to me when I met Flashware in the SYD J Lounge a few months ago. Apparently I was paged in the J Lounge before I arrived at the airport and when I went to the gate I got issued a new boarding pass, I think 23D. I may have been a candidate for an op-up had I been at the lounge when I was paged but they may also have just issued me with the replacement boarding pass for 23D. I will never know the answer to that question....

It's better not to dwell on it...
