I often find the 767s more comfortable, especially up in J. Saying that, I still avoid them like the plague as they've been built in an ancient time when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
If there's a choice I will always opt for the B767 if I can because I like flying in them. I found that I was more comfortable in 28E (yes a middle seat) on the 767 as opposed to 29C on a brand new shiny VH-VZ* BSI 738 or 23K on the 333.
I could fit my rollaboard under the seat in front on the 767 whereas aisle seats on the newest 737's have bugger all space to put anything under the seat in front of you other than your feet.
As for 23K on the 333 (bulkhead not exit row) I found that there's much less elbow room than further back which was evident when on the next 333 flight I chose 26K.
IMHO it's not so much the age of the a/c that counts but the experience of those behind the wheel & how well it's maintained.
