I use Accor a lot... I like novotel because the product offering is very consistent, they do everything I need and allows me to stay within the travel budget...

Why do we have to keep chasing them up for points but? argh... rant over.

Originally had big issues when I first started using A-Club, but the last 3 or so stays have posted automatically and without issue.

The OH had issues last April with the Novotel St Kilda which issued him an invoice under someone else's name and address. He had to chase up the points manually. Every other stay posted automatically without issue.

No recent issues. Last weeks stay posted 2 days after checkout.

Used to use it a lot in NZ, then along came PC.

Last stay was in September at Lourdes, Fr. They put my A-Club card though a special reader on check-out. The points posted in around 36 hours.

Other than that I almost always had issues - but all stays eventually posted, mainly because I ensured I kept copies of all check-out folios ans used these to make claims when they (predictably) failed to post.

Still waiting for points from September from Novotel in SIN

Waste of effort this programme - it seems to get you nothing of benefit till you have stayed in the hotel a couple of million nights...

I have had points awarded from last month's stay at Novotel Citygate Hong Kong and Novotel Beijing Xian Qiao without any issues.

I've NEVER had any post automatically (about 12 stays). Can't comment about the last 6 months or so, because I gave them the flick.

There is at least one old thread on here about difficulties experienced with A Club points posting. I don't know if there has been an improvement or not as I stopped attempting to use the program. I will still stay at some of the hotels like the Sofitel Melbourne, but just don't even bother to provide membership details.

Now as for other programs, so far this year:

PC has posted a BEST FLEX RATE stay as non qualifying
QF has posted a YASA with zero points
JQ *Class flight has not yet posted

But I do agree it is not really the most rewarding program the world has seen.

I think points being allocated varies between each hotel.

I stay at Mercure Sydney on George St very often, and never once have they not posted a few days after. Then I stay at Novotel Rooty Hill and of course they don't post, but I have the invoice and need to wait the 2 weeks before I can claim.

It's a pity the A-Club isn't a bit more rewarding, the prices for Mercure & Novotel is actually quite decent for corporate travel, at least from my perspective.

I have trouble with having some ASIAN hotels post. Though I have found Grand Mercure Melb and Sofitel Melb post automatically (several stays). Some of the hotels in the Asian region don't post, but I find that I just scan and load my receipt to the appropriate area online (about 1 month after staying there), it gets posted the next day.

A-club isn't a great program for redeeming, but I find it very useful for the late checkout and the occasional automatic room upgrade. Plus, there isn't an alternative when you are staying at Changwon.

Stayed in Novotel Adelaide in April last year. Have been chasing them since then but the points have still not posted

You have only 6 months to put a claim in.

Did you do so before the end of October and do you have it documented with copies of any correspondence?

I also find the automatic posting of points very hit and miss. I just now always scan my invoice so if the points are not there I can email a copy.

I transfer all my points to QANTAS and don't bother with the vouchers.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I started the whole process a couple of weeks after the stay when the subsequent stays in Novotel Barossa Valley posted but not Novotel Adelaide. It has been a tedious process of emails faxes and phone calls and after a while I stopped receiving any updates from them. As it was only a two night stay it doesn't matter that much but they have been very unwilling to assist.

I joined a club in November have stayed 21 nights and accured 7750 points, most stay at novotel as it is a good product

The worst offenders are

Ibis perth (don't ask was the worst hotel I've stayed at after ibis Newcastle)
Rockford Adelaide (novotel property) like the rooms, tv, iPad and bed
Mercure Townsville

The best is certainly
Novotel glen waverley vic

I have 9 nights coming up in the next month and I will be asking for a reciept to prove they have requested the points to be posted or I might ask priority rewards to status match and I will take my business there.

I'm surprised they're not helping, they're usually good with it, you just scan a receipt through and usually it's updated in a couple of days... I just hate the fact that you need to chase...

My last two stays they updated promptly... They were Novotel Glen Waverley and Novotel Perth. Finally got to Plat though i'm not sure what this really gets me... I almost never stay at Sofitels etc... just Novotels... Only get upgrades about 30% of the time as a gold... hope they improve...

Hey thanks for the reminder. A-Club had a promo a year or two ago. I was already a member but used another email address to sign up and gain an extra 2000 points for 'joining'. I checked my account and found 1200 points sitting there. Lots of holes where hotels didn't add points but Accor managed to transfer QF points in three days.

I've been having trouble lately even getting them to accept the scanned invoice. After they (frequently) did not update my stays, I sent in the stay details with a copy of the invoice. The response that I got (more than once) was that the invoice wasn't good enough. I can't remember the exact words, but I've pretty much given up on them.
