Reminds me of a flight a couple of years ago in QF F where a mother (60ish) and son (30ish) decided to dine together at mum's seat (in front of mine) and have a full on argument for about an hour. Made for a lovely experience.

Wow intense flight. Should be flying QF instead![]()
I don't think QF fly the route that PF was on
(Were they both wearing thongs by any chance?)![]()
In my thinking/experience... the two individuals included an Airline staff member...
...Hence placement in Jumpseat,...if it were an ordinary human being they would have placed them in J outright, but a staffer would be positioned in Jumpseat instead of J...
Problematic other half being placed in J to balance tensions.
A good strategic move on the CSM's part...
As Jumpseat (prolly staffer)would've understood his positioning....and accepted the situation....
... and recipient of J would've been subdued and quelled for the duration of the flight.
Though this was somewhat to the detriment of the rest of the J cabin, it was probably the best overall strategic choice by the CSM.
personally I would commend his/her actions.... and accept them as a most suitable remedy to situation that was possibly quite disruptive beyond reason.
Top marks inmho
Like I said... in my experience... I may be a junior poster on this wonderful forum... but that's where junior ends.
People don't get a jumpseat without an ASIC card unless the circumstances are DIRE.
P.S...always enjoy your rhetoric Princess F ;-)
You are a Loaded Pistol Indeed .
Did I say Pistol?...?
I meant Princess, of course ;-)

Labelling something as a 'domestic' these days is simply wrong on so many levels.

I think people sometimes use the terminology 'jump seat' (which is in the coughpit) when they mean crew seat ie a seat that is located in the main cabin where F/A's sit and is folded down for take-off and landing and generally found next to the forward door of the a/c or at emergency exit doors in larger aircraft eg A330's A380's & 744's.
My understanding is the male went to the forward galley and sat in the crew seat and did not enter the coughpit at any time.

OzBeachBabe.... What you say is correct, maybe I read the thread a little Literally.
Circumstance would suggest your point is indeed most likely.
Even though, I would still suggest the staff member scenario to be likely,
...as a standard pax would always be separated under the circumstance...errr... comfortably...before UN comfortably in a staff galley seat.
But nice point on perception of jumpseat....
I'd always take the option if offered... but post 9/11.... no asic no cabin access, no matter what.
(bummer)

Not even that often. Even a CASA FOI cannot sit in the jump seat without a good business reason.People don't get a jumpseat without an ASIC card unless the circumstances are DIRE.
