Yes I am going to try to get to York and the museum is on my list along with the gin bar.

Where on earth has the last eight weeks gone. I'm flying home tomorrow and only home for a few days before a weekend away and then back and away again for 6 nights.

I'm going to list all the places I stayed and then when I'm home I will add accommodation and highlights and if I have more time so more info, If people need any info on any of the places visited then let me know and I can do that one first

Salzburg - side trip to Hallstat - magical

I accidentally found Hallstatt many years ago when I was driving around Austria and got lost after taking a wrong turn. This was back when the old paper maps were the order of the day. Stunning place and we always make a habit of going back whenever we are in the region

A little out of sync but I was going to put this in the MCC thread but thought I'd add a bit more info.

I stayed at the cottage on the Scottish borders. One of the nicest places I stayed in and definitely 5 out of 5 for friendliness without being over the top and supplies given including just call me if you want more logs for the fire otherwise help yourself to the wood shed. A lot of places only give you enough for one fire.

The Cottage | Bread Oven Cottage. They are on AirBnB but I booked direct and save over 30 pounds a night.

The only problem was there wasn't a pub for 6 miles but I stocked up and was fine

OK I'll try and get that bit done on the weekend. My overwhelming impression was of not very friendly people who smoked a lot but there was some highlights

Would like to see your pics and thoughts on Trieste. Both my parents were born there but Ive not been (yet).

I spent a morning there on a Cruise in Spring 2022. I did my usual trip report with lots of pictures - you might have to refresh a coupl of times to get all of them to appear. I actually liked Trieste and had a nice lunch there. I thought the locals were friendly but certainly like the rest of Europe there were a lof of smokers.
