A few odd things to share

I don’t understand why they thought removing the scones was a good idea, as they always seemed a hit. Wouldn’t have been hard to keep them. :(

maybe an "enhancement" ;)

FWIW I don't mind the pizza, especially if it's hot fresh on the bar, you get the ones with crispy sides and take a fistful of napkins to pat off some of the excess oil. Most of the rest is passable.

The meat variety is better than the vegetarian one.

Then again, I don't have high expectations for the food, even in the J Lounge. As long as it is prepared properly, doesn't cause food poisoning, is cooked adequately and has some sort of taste, then that's a minimum passed.

Anyone expecting higher quality food than that offered should go jump in the lake. And don't go quoting the stupid "Qantas premium carrier", Neil Perry or J class B.S. - I'll personally throw you into the lake myself (I'm not kidding here, either).

Now to bring this all back to the OP and thus on topic....

Case 1: I think that's pretty poor form. Unless they were feeding a lot of their family, but even then I don't see how they can't feel awkward about doing that.

Then again, someone did comment one time of a mother and daughter in the BA T5 lounge once who took a whole bottle of champagne back with them. I mean, it's not as if the two of them could not or should not drink that much champagne...

Case 2: At least in Australia, taking photos in general is not prohibited unless dictated by law. In saying that, whilst it may not be illegal to take photos when one wants to, I can understand in some situations that it may be socially complicated. There are some people who really don't like being photographed, which may be understandable. You can't just tell these people to hole themselves up in a cardboard box if they don't like it.

In this case, however, it's the lounge dragon being the active agent, and not those who were taken in the shot. So I can't quite understand it. In saying that, I have been told before that photography is not allowed in the lounge (MEL T1 JL) due to "privacy reasons".

When I take photos, I normally try to avoid photographing people if they are not the subject of the photo (or I do not focus on them). Otherwise, I try to be discreet.

I Wish that the lounge dragon would spend less time on people taking photos discretly, and spend a bit more time inforcing the "no unattended children" policy!

They really need to be banned!!! or have a closed door area they MUST go in..

No, they shouldn't ;)

We aren't all little obnoxious turds you know

But if you are ever in a Qantas Club and the is a distinct shortage of Coca Cola, chances are I've already had at it

Gotta say, I'd bet the behaviour of my children against 60% of the adults I see in a QC anyday.

I don't mind the pizza. It isn't great, but the party pies used to be distinctly sub-par, too, and I see the pizza as an improvement.

Think that's an odd story.

Some people have no manners

Currently sitting in T5 Arrivals Lounge. Wonderful place. Like the food, ambiance etc.

However, I am now on one of the PC's and have been for 30 minutes. When I arrived the printer was going on full speed and kept going for another 5 minutes.

Suddenly a younger man in his mid 20's arrive with a plate overflowing with English Breakfast. He starts eating like this is the last food on earth. He collects the prints from the printer and wow that must have been 100+ pages.

He has now printed another two rounds of atleast the same amount.
I mean seriously you freeloading scum? Some people have no manners.
And the reply...

I have been a long time lurker on Flyertalk and by my username you can all guess who I am.

Firstly, I do apologise profusely to the OP - Petrus for any inconvenience and discomfort I might've caused him this morning.

Actually I was sitting right next to him while he was typing this thread. I didn't want to confront him or say anything while there are others around.

I didn't mean to sneak and peak to his screen, but after a few "FU*K" uttered by the OP (I guess it is prob because he lost his post on a Marriott thread) I couldn't help and noticed he was logging onto Flyertalk at the same time.

The printing I did today was for my dissertation and it involved a lot of annual reports of companies. I deliberately printed 2 to a page and double sided to reduce the amount of paper and time used.

When I was there, there were no one else in the computer printing area. As the OP would've witnessed, when one of the BA staff needed to print something, I immediately cancelled my print queue and allowed the person to print straight away. I also apologised to that person waiting. I am by no means trying to hog the printer and treat it as my own.

I have suspended and cancelled my printing for at least 10 times this morning so others who needed access to printing can do so. At no time did I witness anyone waiting for more than 1-2 minutes (while the printer cancels my job and process theirs).

I am thankful that as part of my premium ticket BA does allow printing access for me, which would've saved me a lot of money. You can call me a freeloader etc... But you have no right to call me a scum. All I am trying to do is save a bit of money and as I had some time in the morning to burn in the lounge.

As for the stereotype of me being in the Mid 20s, I am really flattered. by the looks of your dresscode and your apperance (an A&F Blue shirt, slightly untucked) you don't seem to be that much older.

For the breakfast situation. I do apologised that I ate in the computer area, as I tried to get out of the lounge asap. I did recall I tried to be quite and didn't make much noise. So I am again sorry for disturbing you while you were browsing the internet.
I deliberately selected to back row of the computers to be discrete. When I was logged on, no one was there and by the time I came back with the food you just came in and sat there. Because I already logged on and have the files opened, so I couldn't relocate to another work station immediately. I should've paid more attention to people surrounding me.

Also I didn't realise you needed to use the printer, which didn't seem to be the case as I couldn't see other prints sent to the queue.

The breakfast was my first meal in 18 hours as I was on a Middle Eastern flight and I forgot it is a Sleeper Service.

For the record, just in case certain BA staffer here already accused me of "bit like 'let me grab as much of this free stuff as I can'" I had the following on my plate:

2 X Sausages, 2 X hashbrown, 1X Tomato, 4 pieces of solider bread, 1 spoon of scrambled eggs and 5 pieces of mushroom. I also had a 1.5 litre of Highland springs water with that.

I am really sorry if that is more than the normal allocated to a Club World passenger and I will take note next time of what I take from the buffet.

Once again I am really sorry for the trouble I caused today.

That reply put the fire back into the thread and on it went again. Classic is all l can say. Always good to see the other side of the coin.

Happy travels

To the OP, can you put the picture of the 4 Americans up please?

Now where did I see a dedicated area for children recently? Was it SYD Qantas Lounge?

I have not been to SYD QP for over a year and dont recall a dedicated area for children.... but the important thing you are missing is MUST children should be forced to go in this area, and the J lounge should have a no under 14 policy

What a load of rubbish. I'd put the behavior of my kids up against certain drunk "businessmen" any day. In fact, I can only ever remember one case of kids running wild in a lounge, and in that case they were very young and it was completely the parents fault for not controlling them.

No I was not suggesting that at all.

Personally I think it is a great idea to leave your children in this area if your intention is to drink, socialise and let your children run loose in the lounge to annoy other guests.

And yes I know most parents are responsible adults but there are some who simply do not care for others around them....
