A flight a day ...

US secondary airports can be hit and miss for immigration. Yes, not as many intl arrivals (excluding Canada which has pre-clearance) so much shorter queues. But I've also had some of the slowest entries (as in multiple hours to clear) due to over-zealous cbp agents who haven't seen "odd" travel patterns before.
 
I am not sure if there is a fast track lane for those with short connections.
“Pre Covid” ( last time I did US entry) for Qantas and LH flights I experienced, people waiting at the airbridge used to proactively hand you orange ‘express’ cards that you could wave to go to the head of immigration and customs queues. It worked.
