thanks all for the kind words. Feel rather for drama-ing.

Modding, in itself, is not the issue. AFF is extremely lucky to have a great goup of (outstanding) volunteer mods. Insults are not the issue either, in principle; I've been insulted by the best that the Australian army can produce. My main purpose is to explain, in general terms, why I'll try to drop off the radar.

Not taking my bat and going home. But, to extend the cricket analogy, I'll be sitting on the boundary marking the score sheet.

Well I don't know the details medhead (and it is not my business) so I'll refrain from being too judgemental on anyone, but any cyber-nastiness, and even very heavy sarcasm on this forum (even if via PM) is unacceptable, but some people, for reasons I cannot fathom, thrive on it. Debate does become a little lively from time to time and as we all know things can be taken out of context, driving tit-for-tat responses, and so it goes.

I hope you reconsider because you are a significant and valued (IMHO) contributor, but the decision is yours and I respect that.

Well Medhead, I second the previous remarks. A shame that you feel things have escalated to such a degree, if people want to take a shot, do it in pubvlic and be up front about it.. I'm a latecomer to posting but a member for quite a few years. I think it would be a great pity if you dropped off the radar. No point having a forum if all views are the same. I enjoy your comments and indeed many of those other committed folk who give invaluable advice. Be a dull old world if we all thought the same. As my dear old Dad used to say - 'don't let the b.....ds wear you down'. If they win and you depart - we all lose. Keep yer chin up! Cheers

Well now it seems that all of my 6000-odd posts weren't totally worthless, only off topic arguments with other members. So I can't post off topic (because that is so rare on AFF) and I can't have an opinion. Oops! I've already had one opinion this week.

I left AFF quite a while back and recently decided to test returning. It's supposed to be a forum for sharing advice but for a long time it was not worth logging on due to the cough that was occurring. It was like a dysfunctional teener's Facebook. Dealing with office politics was bad was bad enough. This forum should be above that. Powers that be, please keep it that way. A large number of frequent posters seem to have disappeared.

I've never met anyone on the site and it will probably remain that way. However I'm always open to meeting up.

If I have a question I'll ask with thanks, and if I have advice I'll cheerfully give. I thought that what was AFF was supposed to be about so let's keep it that way.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
