Don't know about Vista, but in XP all you need to do is go to 3G Connection Properties, Advanced Tab and click the ICS "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection".

Bridging will link the two networks, e.g. connects a wireless network to a wired one, so that packets from either will go to the other one(s).

ICS will only allow connections out in one direction, e.g. from the wireless network to go out to the internet using NAT.

I reckon we might be onto a winner here - i just enabled it so ill have a play tommorow and see what i come up with, I would try tonight but theres been more than ample red wine under the belt so best leave it alone!

thegurio,

Now sounds like just the right time to give it a go. Most people do much better after a few reds, don't they :?:

Certainly when I am thinking that I am doing my best work ...

And it helped me put my bed suite together when it arrived having already spent 1.5 hours, a few beers and 30 minutes later, it was up (and still is to this day ;)).

ive actually gone for the ExpressCard one as i would break the USB one within a week i reckon...
Mine lasted around 4 months. Cost $120 for another USB modem. :(

Another spanner in the works... Vista wont let me bridge the connections...
I learned a valuable lesson when I bought the new laptop back in November. Stay away from Windows Vista (Business)....

theres always Skype if anyone cant ring a mobile.

have you had a chance to run skype over a 3G connection? I would have thought it would be pretty shocking (for similar reasons that online gaming is pretty shoddy over 3g)

I dont call that many overseas numbers and as for calling inside Oz, my bills are that high that another few dollars arent going to really matter.
