I see you've made your choice, but I'm happy with a p.c. I like that you can upgrade parts as you need, so a longer life overall, and is better value both upfront and through the longer life. Plus that flexibility means it works better.
Pretty much everything at the moment but I'm getting there :!:Let us know if you need a hand with anything.
Don't talk to me about that. I was going to ring the Ombudsman today but all the Telstra phone lines in Gippsland are down today as well :!:Good choice, you just now need to get your internet working.

I was being pushed and pulled in each direction by a few people and for a few reasons. For me games are a very low priority and reliability is a high priority.
I have decided to on a 13 in Mac Book Pro (i7) so only time will tell whether I'll regret or like the decision.
It should be easy for traveling and at home I'll still use it with a screen, keyboard and mouse.

OK, question time for the computer gurus.
I am using Outlook for most of my mail but I'm using 'mail' that comes as standard on the Mac for one specific address. The problem is that if the email comes to my iPhone first it then does not show up in 'Mail'

This is a gmail account.Sounds to me like your iPhone is actually downloading the mail from the mail server, so when your computer goes to check for mail, nothing is there.
Who is your E-Mail service with? I'll can tell you where to go from there....
As above so it is not ISP related (I think)Is there a "leave a copy on the server" option of your mail server setup with your ISP?
Yes it is using an SMTP server and the iPhone setting is set to never.Sounds like you are using an SMTP server, and the iPhone is removing the message from the server.
Have a look at your iPhone mail settings, drive down into "Mail Account"->Advanced and make sure "Delete from Server" is set to "Never"

This problem only occurs using the program ‘Mail’ so I can get around it by using Outlook if necessary (I think, as it was not a problem on my old PC)

That's what I was thinking but thought there must be an easier way.Did you resolve the file transfer problems? Personally I have a heap of external drives (SSD/HDD/flash) that I would use.
