After his death a Foundation was set up to run the museum and Gala's castle. They needed the Government's help but it came with conditions. Many of his best works had to be moved to Madrid. Still enough to see his vision,

When we first saw this painting -Lincoln in Dalivision- we realised as well as being eccentric he had real talent. Far away it is Gala looking out a window but close up it is Abe Lincoln. Hard to capture.

The excursion got back to the ship an hour late so straight to our room for a comfort stop and picked up a wrap in the Arts Cafe Which we ate as we headed down to start our second excursion for the day to Pujol Village and Gala's castle.
So first a few pics on the way. The area is known for ceramics and agriculture.

On returning it was a late lunch on the pool deck. here is the menu.

We had the Captain's Welcome that evening followed by dinner again in Atlantide the main restaurant. Mrsdrron ate from the Menu of the day which changes every day. She had the white asparagus followed by the scallops main dish.

I know its hard to generalise, but if you dropped in at random on those venues over various cruises, would you see much the same style/variety?

Do they ever demonstrably take on local produce (not talking about local dish styles)?

Certainly in our expedition cruising days local produce was taken on. We were telling the cook on the Explotrt how in Vanuatu we really enjoyed eating Coconut crab. When we reached Vanuatu the cook went out and bought quite a few coconut crabs.

The classic fleet is different and it is more the style of the region rather than the actual produce I believe. There are some cooking classes especially on the larger ships that have a SALT restaurant and lab. The chef organises a visit usually to a local market to get the stuff for a cooking class.

If the quality falls off from a supplier they will change. An example was that they used to source their beef from Kansas but in the last little while they have switched to a Texas supplier. I thought that on this last cruise the quality of the beef was excellent and many shared this view.
