I've got to say that this has been the most exhausting trip I have been on! :D

I have struggled to keep up with you drron, but have seen some very interesting people, places and even the occasional glorious sunset.

I'm also struggling with this one Oatek.Hopefully can finish soon.

All that is left to do now is return to the ship. But a morning full of coughies is special. Not often you have birds pose for you without any fear.So just followed the birds-

All that is left to do is head for Guayaquil and disembarkation. The Captain's farewell and dinner with the Captain.A really good group and a nice way to finish off the cruise.
A big welcome to Guayaquil-

Cardinal Ratzinger(Benedict XV) spent a week here in 1978 as a personal envoy of Pope John Paul 1.
The cathedral is quite stunning inside-

Unless I missed your mention of it, I've just figured out that you are referring to Guayaquil. I've only ever transitted it at the airport.

You had me worried.I do have more senior moments now but it is mentioned in Post 304.Before this we had only transitted Guayaquil as well. Not a bad place to stopover on your way to/from Galapagos.

Next we were dropped on one side of Las Penas an old area which is very colourful-

This is where the tour went downhill. As the guide had a phone you would expect when we had walked through Las Penas the bus would be waiting on the other side. But no.First a 15 minute comfort stop and the he called the bus which took over 20 minutes to arrive. We then went for a drive around the suburbs near the airport.Went past a shopping centre 4 times.A lot of time wasting.
