A plane load of free Virgin Voyagers [Subsequent Issues due to Cancellation of Australian Voyages]

Cunard have been planning that cruise for 3 years at least. VV had 6 months to plan a September repositioning. again cruise lines are not airlines.

And the last word here is the VV statement. as you are not going to change my mind. My experience cruising tells me what you think is possible is in fact nearly impossible.

Yet VV came up with a replacement voyage up Africa in the space of a month or so, so it was feasible. And safe.

Add another 6 months on top and they would have more options and could market it better.

Just they _chose_ not to go up Africa. Nothing to do with safety.

As for having 6 months to prepare for that repositioning - instead they had to multiply that even more and come up with a whole bunch of itineraries elsewhere in 6 months. So again, nothing to do with logistics or practicalities. Just a commercial decision.

I experienced the Virgin Voyages when they were in Melbourne and was pretty disappointed and didn't bother going on the 'gifted' cruise as a +1.

VV was very 'mardi gras/ flamboyant' which just isnt my style and much preferred Cunard.
I had never cruised in my life, I never wanted to because I don't want children around and neither did my friends, it also looked like a retired person kinda thing (nothing wrong with that), which is why we selected VV, we went as a paid group of 8 and had an absolute blast. We were shocked at how good the restaurant food was and the service was outstanding.
We all booked our next cruise for later this year with VV but unfortunately, that was cancelled.
I hope they return as none of us are interested in any other type of cruise ship, just not our thing :)
We liked the typical Virgin flamboyant feel of all the crew, we thought they were hilarious and many of them remembered our names just passing them around the ship, which felt special.
Each to their own, but I get the impression cruise-type people are a fickle bunch ;)
