There was an article by the author, Peter Harbison in The Australian today where I took the image from. Harbison was one of the founders of CAPA Centre for Aviation.

Maybe some people felt he was doing a great job in a tough environment, for a period of time.
Not for me to say when he will make a profit from his memoirs.
Good luck on that, not that I would buy his book, or any book, I might read it and be happy to pay for an online version, $29.99 to read it once and for all, saves paper, ala Audible.
He could have made it (Qantas) so much better, by not outsourcing the call centres in his tenure, but he didn't stop it, ...
Maybe he saw himself more into outsourcing every single non core activitity.

Cutting costs in every which was is a typical business minded thing to do for those who are disconnected to the customer. We should not forget about the call centres, baggage handlers, customers and everyone they f*&ked over while still taking 2b from the AU gov and then making 1.5b the year after C19. Disgusting. I think some of the comments appears to infer this is an autobiography, which it is not. There may be some fearless criticism of AJ in the book and lack of (attempted) defence by himself, since the book is unauthorised, so presumably there was no candid interview involved.

Whether or not it is worth buying is contentious, since AJ’s saga with QF is yet to finish with the ongoing senate inquiry (and highly politicised line of questioning by some member, incl threats of jail time for non attenda) meant there will almost certainly an updated or expanded edition within 1-2 years.

If you are able to access the linked story - article by the author, its pretty balanced; we;ll have to wait and see if there are intervies involved.

Author would be pleased that there is so much news about the subject at the time of release - obviously scheduled for the time of AJ's original retirement time (possibly brought forward a bit now), but as you say, the story will be incomplete.

Granted, his name isn't on the cover, ie, there is no wording (by: so and so), in the visual line.
