RENFE on line ticketing is frustrating hopeless.....we got the hotel concierge to book all of ours.

That works fine for up to an hour's journey, but a very expensive option for long distance trains where the normal fares are much much higher than the web specials. Or was the Concierge able to access the web fares?

I tried again this morning but the system doesn't work. If it's too expensive to buy at the station, I might as well hire a car as there are 3 of us travelling together.

I think you will be fine, it's only an hour journey and it's by Avant so should only be 30E-ish per person. When are you travelling?

They booked two trips for us - return day trip to Toledo & one way (first class) to Sevilla . TBH, I can't remember what price we paid, I was just happy to secure the tickets without going through the painful process of on line booking....it didn't appear way over the top.

The trip to Sevilla in the first cabin was a beautiful & relaxing way to spend 2.5hrs....man, I wish we had high speed trains.

I've tried booking ticked through Renfe three times now. I give up. We'll just book at the station and see what happens regarding price, and enjoy the journey however it turns out!

Thanks so much for the travel advice folks.!

We booking via a travel agent on RENFE back in 2007. Is that an option?
