A330 downgrade to 737

Hi there

Recently did VA MEL-PER-MEL in J via a Etihad redemption earned from buying groceries at Coles, outward was a 737 & inbound was a 330, both flights were great, the 330 was nice but a bit of overkill on a short sector, keep them for the medium/long hauls.
The 737 was perfectly adequate for this flight, although I might be in the minority here :-)

I have a red eye flight coming up from Perth in J on VA 698, so hoping that this remains the 330. It says arriving Melbourne at 5.15am with a 3 hour stop in Melbourne before leaving again for Hobart. Have i messed this up a bit, forgot the lounge only opens 60mins prior to first departure. Any idea when the first departure out of MEL is?
 
I assume there is a standard 6.00am flight Mel to Syd, which would mean i am ok?
 
In the past 2 days I have been advised of both flights to and from PER, QF one way and VA the other have BOTH been downgraded.
Business in a 737 is just no comparison to business in the A330.

VA emailed me options for changes and I called them and they allowed me to re-route via MEL to be on an A330 for the PER sector.
QF just sent me an email telling me I was now confirmed on a 737 flight and that's it. The option to change on to a connecting A330 flight would be at my cost I imagine.

I noticed yesterday that my flights in 2018 the Friday 5PM'sh flight (VA694) from Perth to Melbourne have all be downgraded to a B737. Thought it would have been one of the flights to remain an a330.
