A380 to Hong Kong [from Jan 15th, QF127/QF128]

Sorry - no. Tasting menu is only Ex-Oz and only Oz-LAX and Oz-BKK as far as I know.

Also when I upgraded to F SYD-BKK I did it primarily for the tasting menu - the crew didnt really understand the tasting menu and matching wines concept and just said they would bring stuff through the flight. On reflection I wouldnt do the upgrade again personally with other competing priorities for points. If flying on the A380 I would though

Not QF29, nor QF127.

Figured as much, but thought it was worth asking. Will just have to work my way through the wine list instead

If flying on the A380 I would though

With the double status credit offer it was too good an opportunity to pass up. A380 F to HKG and 747 F on the way home. Would have preferred it the other way around, but considering there is only ever 1 FASA seat available at the "cheap" price, this was the best I could manage.

I believe these flights are QF1/QF11/QF31/QF93/QF9.

As Serfty points out QF31 SYD-SIN has the tasting menu. The girlfriend selected this set course on QF31 17/11.

I am on QF127 SYD-HKG A380 tomorrow. I just had my call from QF First. I asked if the degustation menu would be available. I was told that she'd need to call someone and call me back. 5 minutes later I get a call confirming that the tasting menu will be available on tomorrow's flight

Not sure if this is a one off or if the rules have changed, but I'm happy either way!

Yes...you'll have to painfully choose only one of them

Alternatively, go light on the breakfast, especially if you intend on having a good amount of alcohol, including all matching wines at full pour.

It will be interesting to see how the crew go on this flight. There's not a lot of great sentiment on AFF about the crews who service the HKG flights, but the A380 services might be a whole different ball game.

I wonder if you wanted to whether a "tasting menu" could be "synthesised". The crew may not be very happy, however, let alone it will really test whether any of the crew are sky sommeliers!
