Hi Guys,

I am becoming more savvy with the lounge structure on some Qantas friendly airlines but American is still baffling for me, so hopefully someone can help me out - sorry not sure whether to post here or in AA:

I will be doing a quick hop from LAS to DFW and then back the next day. I will be traveling on a P code ticket in First and I am Qantas Gold at the moment, so 2 questions:

1. Will I earn 90 SC's each way on this discounted First Fair Code?
2. Will I be able to use any lounge in LAS or DFW before the flights?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

1) yes, A, F and P are the first class fare codes so you're right there.

2) No lounges in LAS, yes to DFW.

As for lounge access in LAS, there are two "Priority Pass" lounges available - those with platinum Amex can get complimentary membership varying from two free visits per year to unlimited depending on the card.

check out the showers if you're in the terminal A lounge of DFW. absolute gold after a SYD-DFW leg with the rainforest, normal and jets all going at once. nicely spread out with different zones too.

Flew out of LAS last week. I got lounge access on a J BA ticket and OW Emerald. It quite honestly wasn't worth it. Cramped and like a domestic lounge in Oz. I had one drink and went walk about. There's a quick spa a few minutes away. I chose to spend my hour there and had an absolutely superb massage. One of those airports where unless you need a space to sit and get wifi access you're better of with the offers outsidde

Thanks for the help guys.

Yes I was looking for somewhere in LAS to get away from the pokies!

But generally just to get some wifi for work and a bit of peace...

Cheers

That's the international lounge as LAS, as mentioned there are very few DOM lounges in LAS these days.

If you're flying out of the D gates with AA there's a few dozen tables and chairs in the terminal near the Burger King/Pizza Hut (out the front of the starbucks). Free wifi is available and it's typically reasonable. Not sure on power points though, but i've spent many hours there in the past having a sandwich and killing time on the laptop:)
