AA Platinum (OW Sapphire) privileges on Qantas...

Not trying to be argumentative but the benefit appears to be a Marco Polo club benefit rather than OW.

The Marco Polo Club can also take advantage of added privileges when flying on all oneworld® alliance airlines.

They then list the baggage benefit for their own members travelling on OW airlines.

If you go to the Partner frequent flyer page as I posted earlier it does not make reference to any baggage benefits.

I do think this is a MPC benefit and not a published OW benefit. It is not mentioned on the OW site that I can see.

I'd also have thought the OW site is the single authoritative source on published OW benefits.

AFAIK priority baggage handling has never been a published OW benefit, however CX is the most generous in extending the benefit unofficially to non MPC OW elites.

I've tried finding the quotes regarding baggage on the OneWorld site, and can't find it either.

More than hapy to accept being wrong. I was just trying to join the dots via the sites based on what I have come to expect when flying on OW carriers. I must admit, CX is the only OW carrier I have flown outside QF's golden triangle (QF,AA,BA).

on the topic - I was given a nice suprise a couple of days ago when my bags were given yellow First Class tags on the SYD-LAX leg flying QF J (under AA Exp status).

I must have scored the check in attendant on a good day - as I was also given multiple inbound & exbound e-express tickets (some for a rainy day)

hmmm! wonder how much they would go for on eBay:?:;)

(which doesn't sound right, surely QFF Platinum would be first).
Wouldn't be so sure of that. A colleague once got an OLCI op-up to domestic J (ADL-SYD) because he was QP, whereas two of us (also on the same flight) were at the time QFF Gold (OWS).

Actually, I lie. The person who got the OLCI op-up (to 1A no less) was actually a QFNB...but the check-in agent said the QP member was supposed to get the upgrade, even over the two QFF Gold's who OLCI'd at the same time.

But did it make any difference at the other end ;)

Not really surprising as I guess most PAX using the SYD/MEL First Class check-in facilities would be eligible for Yellow Tags. Perhaps they don't have any other ones at those counters ... ;)

Yes, was flying el-chepo Y to Auckland and got yellow cards at QF F counter in Melbourne. didn't see any others.

first time we used the First Class check-in @ SYD (Dom Y) I was only given priority tags.....which made sure the bag came out last in ADL :lol:

I would bet that it would - International arrivals at LAX in my experience is the one place where the priority bags go onto a separate carousel - and the non-priority bags are always still coming out well after the priority bags have finished coming out.
