Mrs Lime/Self doing LAX/MIA/DFW/NYC/LAS/ LAX as AA Yupp fares.

I'm QFF SG Mrs Lime is SS, how many points and status points would we each receive?.

What are the booking classes for each segment? (Y/I/P/A/D/F?)

If they are all either A, P or F (First Class) then you should earn 510 SC's (If the LAX-MIA is in I/C/J/D then 470)

Base points + Status bonus (75% for Gold) + Class of Service Bonus (100% for First)

e.g. MIA-DFW is 1121 miles, so for an SG in First, that's 1121 base + 841 Status + 1121 COS = 3083

The itinerary you give nets 510 SCs.However if you had gone LAX-DFW-MIA-DFW-NYC-DFW-LAS-LAX you would have got 690 SCs.AA usually offer the LAX-DFW-MIA option as well as the direct and usually for the same fare.same NYC-LAS.
For mileage I use this site and your route should be up to get the mileage.

Thanks guys.

We are going Aug. so plenty of time to plan and book.

Not thought of going thru DFW again to get extra points, bit limited with time as have max of 17 days all up in US, so adding extra flight time might impede things. Then have to work out best flights as 2 class think I read AA have just Y and F on many flights, so auto upgrade brings more points.

There is 1 LAX-MIA flight a day which is 3 class so just be careful.
The thing about transitting at DFW is it is AAs main base so frequent flights.
So i just selected 16/8-AA280 leaves LAX at 0900 and arrives in MIA 1720.
Going via DFW then AA2428 connecting to AA484 you leave at 0845 and arrive 1955 with a 2 hour connect at DFW.So not a major loss of time and 90 extra SCs.
The cost was exactly the same whichever choice you make.

How does one tell what class of flights they are?.
Look for the booking class of each segment!

If using Price+Schedule on AA.com, Click the [+]Flight Detail link beside a routing option to discern. Look for the Letter and Class indicated in the rows:

AP&F earn First Class SC's.

JDC&I are business,

Y is Full economy SC

BHKGLMNS&V are Discount Economy SC

O&Q don't earn with QFF

If a sector has a 3 class service then using Price and schedule there will be extra columns-Business and business special-the 3 class flights will give a price in these columns,2 class flights will not.If you buy a YUPP on a 3 class flight you only get upgraded to Business not First.
