AA redemption, can see but can not select

Hey guys,

Don't you hate it when availability is shown on the calendar, then you can never select it e.g. progress to pay for the redemption.

Is there any trick to make it work? or its just a tease......

Is it not quite in the bookable period? They appear but are not bookable until a few hours later. Or phantom availability.

AA has been showing phantom QF availability since last year. It's absolutely ridiculous that it hasn't been fixed.

Yes. This has been widely reported here and elsewhere. AA is showing widespread phantom availability for QF F.
The easiest way to get around it is to search via QF/BA or award nexus etc.

Yep, there's a problem with phantom availability in First class.

After selecting an option you get:

• The flight you selected is no longer available. Please modify your request.

EF also shows QF availability. Great tools combined but still annoying to have to search so granularly

AA phantom availability has been a problem for months now. Book via the AA website by all means, but find your availability elsewhere (BA for example).

That would be a rare example. The problems are very much predominantly F awards.

Happening with J as well. Had dozens of phantoms showing. Was speaking to EXP line last week and they said they have heaps of complaints about it.

Definitely with J also. Tried a few weeks ago, 'lots' of availability but not bookable.

Not sure if it was an isolated incident, but when I was booking my AA award on QF F ex LHR, I tacked on another Euro destination so it was say DUB-LHR-DXB-SYD. The phantom availability seemed to go, only showing what was there (and matching EF).

Even if you don't want to leave from DUB (or AMS or FRA or TXL or something like that), try searching for it. Find the QF flight it connects through to, then search for that (use two windows) and combine it with EF for maximum usefulness.
