Hi,
Is there any way to transfer points/miles from an AA Advantage account to a Qantas FF account? I bought a ticket for a friend some time ago and she got points on her AA account. I'd like to transfer them to my QFF account if possible. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks,
Max

Afraid not. AFAIK.
Generally once in an airline program there is no going back.

Well there is a way:

See the Mileage Converter

The best you can get is around 10000 AA : 20000 HH : 3000 QF.

Alternatively you can trade the points on Coupon Connection on Flyertalk (after posting 90 times and being on Flyertalk for 90 days)

Not sure as to why you'd want QF points rather than AA, especially given that 20,000 AA points will get you a return trip to/from anywhere in Australia/New Zealand, and the fact that points can be earned fairly easily through Live Search Club.

This should read "once in some airline programs there is no going back, like Qantas.

Actually, according to the InsideFlyer "Mileage Converter" you can convert 10 AA miles to 3 QFF points.

Note the easiest way is via HHonors, however, unless you are an AAdvantage elite, you need 25,000 AA miles to start with.

But AA points wont get you many upgrades on QF ;)

Thanks for all the info.

Shame about the terrible exchange rates though. I think I'll just let my friend keep the points herself.

Sorry about almost giving a bum steer, i was forgetting you can get points out of AA that way.
