I have an upcoming AAward entirely on Qantas domestic flights, booked from my AA account. Therefore the award booking has my AA number on it. I'd like to change to my Qantas FF number, because platinum status.

Is there an easy way to successfully do this online, without having to call Qantas?
Jordanian? Finnair?

It may be easier to call AA and ask them to make the change since its an AA-issued ticket. Just explain the reason for wanting the change of FF details and they are generally very accommodating. And of course if you have QF Points Club then you "may" also earn QFF Status Credits for the flight.

You will have to call AA ...

When booking an AAdvantage award for myself, I do it as a third party, even though it means filling in all my details again at the time of booking. But at least I get my Qantas Details in then and there.

Out of curiosity, is it possible to add it via the QF PNR thru QF MMB?

Thanks for the quick help and advice

I hadn't really thought about points club. I've decided I don't need more status this year as I've already triggered the Status support single flight criteria (three times).

The next step is to try to trigger a carbon offset green leaf. Since a common theme for the flights I've offset so far is being qantas business account bookings, and offset seems to match to the business rewards account and not me personally.

No. The other people on the booking it is possible to add. But for me, I can't remove the AA number, and therefore can't add a QFF number.

This is why @serfty's solution to book rewards for themself as a third party does work.
I was too lazy and just added my AA person as one of the pax. Lesson learned.

Do the other PAX see the trip in QF MMB?

Good question. I'm not sure. I can't really check right now.

Edit:
Looks like I've added the AAdvantage award to the qantas app, no problem. It doesn't show in My Bookings on the website.
I just did the MMB option from the front page using one of the surname of one of the other people and that finds it ok.
Not sure if that clarifies anything

If they can, then you’ll have the QF PNR. So I was curious if you or others can then add your QFF. I suspect not but curious.

Ok, I see. Yes I do have the qantas PNR. When I did MMB using the surname of a one of the others (different to mine) I can't change my FF number

I did this recently (add QFF number to to AA award booking. The booking then disappears from AA my bookings and doesn't show up under QF bookings.

Not a big deal but is there a way to get it shown under one or both to save searching with the PNR?

That's weird, for me it shows in QFF and still shows in AA (changed via RJ)!

It won’t show on QF MMB if it’s solely AA flights regardless of whether your number is in there or not.

Your last 2 question: yes and yes!

I can confirm you can change on RJ site! Had to do this myself recently and easier than calling AA
Many thanks for the tip here!

I was in the same position - QF domestic flight on AA rewards. I've now successfully updated my FF number from AA to QF on RJ (and all other passengers too - as RJ defaulted everyone to RJ, even though they were listed with QFF numbers).

Now everyone has been shifted to row 2 in J, as QF MMB recognises me as QF Gold rather than AA nobody. Whether QF Points Club Plus comes through with any reward flight SC is another question... not holding my breath!

Just did this very change.
AA call centre had no idea how to do it; tells me he had tried 3 times and no luck.
Meanwhile RJ.com didn't pick up the reservation.
BA didn't see it either.
Using this fantastic font of knowledge I insisted my man check how it was done. 3 minutes later he had it changed.
Now I have lounge access for my 2 flights across US next week :) And 2 bags, which I need.

I did this recently - have an AAward for an AA metal flight.
Finnair, RJ websites both didn't recognise the AA PNR (no surprise).
Called AA on Skype for free, asked to remove my AAdvantage number and replace with my QFF number.
Agent asked me if Qantas was "QR" - told her "QF".
Went back into booking on AA.com and my QFF number is there, although the last few digits are replaced with **** for security purposes, I'm guessing.
